Breakfast at Scripps Pier - Fine Art Landscape Photography 📷

Taken with a Sony A7RM2 and 16-35mm Zeiss by @runrudy

Took this 'dramatic' shot of my daughter at Scripps Pier in La Jolla, CA. I describe it as 'dramatic' because it was really foggy that morning. Which created a great atmosphere for the image. Her standing center and looking out just looks epic to me. We have this image framed in our house.

The behind the scenes 'drama' was that it was pretty early in the morning. I managed to dragged the girls there without breakfast. They were not happy to leave without getting at least a bagel or Eggo to go.

The attitude doesn't end. Baby follows along just like her sisters. Here's the daily 'dramatic' portrait of the baby for future timelapse:

What you talkin about Daddy!

Love the first photo with its lines of perspective. Really draws you in!

Yes, it is one of my favorite places to take pictures. Thanks @movievertigo

Absolutely beautiful and breath taking. I can't get over how perfect these pictures are. The first one is my favourite!

Excellent photos, especially the first one. Is the photo or your position in relation to the pier making the pier slightly tilted to the right?

Creates a feeling like this little girl is facing some evil magic (ala Alice In Wonderland). It also has a post-Apocalyptic feel to it, because of the empty space and seemingly abandoned and decaying concrete structure.

Here's a tighter (more claustrophobic), perspective distorted shot, to illustrate my point - hope you don't mind I butchered your photo :)

haha. thanks @dek. i take photos of this pier all the time. after a while you start to notice a few things. top of my head, there could be two things in play. the pier is pretty old and is just not perfectly symmetrical. some of the pylons have moved/shifted. So you may see some larger or smaller gaps in between them. Also, i was using a 16mm wide angle. there could be some distortion from that also. i like the idea that it has a post apocalyptic feel to it. i am happy people are enjoying it. Thanks for taking the time and making such a great comment. see ya!

Great shot very beautiful photogr

I'd like to say about how much I liked the first picture. I was a girl in my mind for a long time in the past for many years. When I get lost, I sometimes have the similar figure in mind. Thank you for the picture. @runrudy

I am happy to share. It means alot to me that you are able to connect personally with the image. I always hope people can find story or memories from my images. Thanks @bontonstory!

This is such a well done picture! A great moment, even quite poetic! You should treasure it nonetheless!

Thank you @rachgudy for taking the time to comment. Much appreciated.

Great shot! Really good use of vanishing point perspective. The pier gives the whole thing a kind of scifi movie feel to it.

Thanks @fiftysixnorth I like that! Certainly some story can be written about it. Cheers!

definitely! You could photoshop an x-wing in there and it wouldn't look out of place at all ;)

I like your thinking!!!

you can never go wrong with an x-wing ;)
