This is my first posting in #introduceyourhometown and you will see more pictures of my hometown Antwerpen in the future.
Antwerpen, or Antwerp in English 😉, is a Flemish city in Belgium, the capital of Antwerp province in the state of Flanders. With a population of around 500,000 it is one of the most populous city in Belgium.

Right now Antwerp looks like 1 big construction site and 1 of the places that will change drastically is the neighbourhood of the opera. Until this year there was a lot of traffic just in front of this beautiful building and… it was a bit hidden. But from 2018 on the whole space will be almost traffic-free. Can’t wait to see the end-result!

There is just 1 thing that still disturb me... who, in the seventies, had the stupid idea to allow the construction of that ugly building on the right of the opera? And I’m not the only one to think that way... The A-Tower, or Antwerp tower, is ranked nr 18 in the top of the most ugliest buildings in Europe. I know the building will be stripped and renovated soon... but still 😡
