Costa Rican Jungle Sounds - Toucan, Cicada, Howler Monkey and Surf
I have been capturing Costa Rican jungle sounds and visuals for use as sound effects and B-roll (supplemental or alternative footage to intercut with the main shots). This short piece includes Toucan, Cicadas, Howler Monkey and distant surf. The surf here on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica has been small today, usually it roars at this location! It has been sunny and dry today at 28 Centigrade and around 80% relative humidity... a perfect day!
Recorded with a Sony ECM-DS70P Electret Condenser microphone and Gopro Hero2 - at 48,000khz stereo. This is best listened to on high quality speakers or headphones. You can actually see the Toucan making the call just left of the middle of screen.

Wow, this is an awesome video! I also tried to capture the sounds of Costa Rican jungle when I was there earlier this year but its not that impressive - the cicadas beat all the other sounds :D But I am gonna post that anyway - for me, a life-time nature lover, those 2 weeks in Costa Rica were truly unique experience. Thanks for this post, good job :)
