Lake Saiful Malook is without any doubt one of the most stunning lakes ones can think about to exist on the surface of this earth. After we speak about this lake, words fail to describe its magnificence. Anybody who has been there even once, always remembers the time that was spent within the firm of this enchanting lake. As soon as we're there we by no means really feel like leaving it; fairly reverse to the Trevy Fountain in Rome, the everlasting metropolis where the guests throw coins to want they'd come again quickly. Here within the fairyland you don’t have to throw any coin.

Saiful Muluk is a mountainous lake situated on the northern end of the Kaghan Valley, close to the city of Naran in Saiful Muluk National Park. This beautiful lake is a source of the Kunhar river. This lake is at an elevation of 3,224 m above sea level, the lake is situated above the tree line, and is without doubt one of the highest lakes in Pakistan

8.jpg

Saiful Muluk is situated within the province Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Mansehra district , It is about 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) north of Naran, within the northern part of Kaghan Valley. Interestingly Malika Parbat, the very best peak within the valley is close to the lake.
The lake is accessible from the close by city of Naran in the course of the summer season however entry throughout winter is restricted.

The Lake Saiful Muluk is named after a very famous prince. A fairy story known as Saif-ul-Muluk which is written by the Sufi poet Mian Muhammad Bakhsh, describes the lake. In the story prince of Persia named Prince Saiful Malook is shown falling in love with a fairy princess who was named Princess Badri-ul-Jamala at the very same lake

A lot of people reach there daily when in summers the place is open for tourists. The road being very tough and frightening, reaching at that height in those special jeeps is nothing less than an adventure in itself. Once you are up there near the lake you would surely forget the struggle as the view up there is surely worth every bit of it.

5.jpg

We went there in summers, when the temperature was at a high in most of the places, still that lake and the surroundings were very cold and we could really not stay there for long as it was evening already and besides being tired of traveling the previous full day we could not really bear that temperature also being very far from the city.

6.jpg

Once the winters arrive, this lake would get covered in snow and would give a view of a lifetime but because of being at a very awkward height and place it is not accessible for general public. Some aerial shots do get released every season which are always breathtaking.

And this last photo is my favorite. I just can not stop looking at those clouds giving multiple colors with water flowing down in the river and those tiny roads leading up to those beautiful mountain houses, this surely is a place to live, only if one can survive in a below zero temperature most of the year :D

That's it for now, one exam is done and the mid terms are to follow. hopefully, will have time to post again before the exams start again. Whenever time allows its good to be here :)

howdy hananali! you are right, that lake and the surrounding valley and mountains is amazing and beautiful! But to go there in the winter you must dress up like a mountain climber!
This is a wonderful post, good to see you back!

Yes you got that right, you got to dress up like a mountain climber but I never heard anyone going there that way, they would better try to climb up the secon highest mountain that is K2.

Thank you @janton Am glad you liked it :)

well I think you should go there in the winter time and do a post on what it was like...if you survive!

I would not want to risk my life for a post, I will post some photos with a link to the original source , while chilling at my home watching Netflix :D better deal?

hey great post , nature and the land is most beautiful x

That is beautiful. That altitude would make it hard to breathe too. How is the fishing? I bet there is not a lot of swimming, but I bet the water is clear!

It would be fun in dry suit SCUBA! How deep is it? With the terrain, I bet she is deep in the center!

:)

Yeah it's hard to breathe and hard to even get there but the scenery is beautiful.
There surely is not a lot of swimming as the water stays very cold all the year and fishing I am not sure , never heard of it...but yes there is some rare kind of fish in this lake which is not allowed to be caught as some government istitute office is right at the edge which controls it.

Not sure of the depth as it is a natural lake and even without any glacier around it, it still keeps flowing which means it keeps getting water from it's surface and if that is true then I am sure it would be very deep.

scuba? Never heard anyone challenging the lake I don't see a lot of sports happening here..but may be when it's very hot there which never happens I guess

Could be worse, the last time I went that high up, I was on foot....and it was still hard to breathe, ROFLOL! Any time you get above the tree line, it gets hard to breathe!

I bet it is deep, and fed from below the surface, apparently; so I bet it is very clear! It would be interesting to see the kind of fish the thrive at that altitude.

I think that dry suit SCUBA would be a lot of fun up there, because the water clarity would give you almost unlimited visibility!

I bet you can drink right out of the lake! It would be a good place for a cook out with a picnic.

:)

That has a lot to do with the age factor I guess :D it was not that hard to breathe in the summer when we went there but it surely would be tough to breathe there now when its all covered with snow, wait a minute its not even possible reaching up there now let alone breathing there :D

Yeah, this is what I heard that the lake is fed from below the surface which is why it keeps running even when there is no glacier melting next to it. And the fish which survives there are the famous and rare trout fish which I mentioned in some of my other posts too. Nearby restaurants take those fish from here and sell it in their restaurants at very high prices.

yeah, water is very clear and SCUBA would be a lot of fun but only in summers which last for not more then 4 or 5 months, otherwise the lake stays frozen.

People do that a lot, they take their families there and spend good time but they are yet to build a road up there so whatever path takes you up there is very sleek and dangerous, I don't think I would take my family up there for picnic as they would want to come back from mid way it self :D

Well my problem was I was carrying half my body weight on my back in camping gear and supplies. We went up and over a 3800 meter mountain on foot, because there was no other option. We camped about 3100 meters up several times on opposite sides of the mountain, and spent several weeks up high during this trip.

It was fun. Would be nice to do again, but Debbie needs me too much.

SCUBA with a dry suit, is possible even cutting through the ice, but that is a danger since it can freeze over.

I have caught and eaten Trout from the streams during that trip. I have not been fishing in years, but I like it, and need to do more of it!

When I get out to the homestead, I will plan to do some fishing; since the lake is a half mile (Kilometer) away from the house, and it is a 40 mile long V shaped lake!

:)

40 miles long lake? that must have a lot of fish in it and if I was you I would be going there more often :D Let's plan a trip to the lake whenever I visit there and catch some trout as its very rare and expensive here and you never know when they the sellers could do a fraud by selling you the some other fish by the name of trout catching it yourself would be a fine and satisfying deal.

Yeah that's a problem, If you remember I posted about our tracking to Swak lake which is like more than an hour walk up the mountain and we were carrying a lot of food, drinks and bar b q stove and other stuff that we were very tired once we reached and even after the swim we had I didn't really feel like eating a lot and we came back so if it is for a week or so it should be fine but if you are going there for some hours only then you might want to carry less and stay fresh to enjoy the most.

I have never had the opportunity to learn or try Scuba but now I guess I should give it a go, I have tried controlling the water jet (or bike whatever we call it) once and it was a scary experience as it was my first time into a sea and I jumped in the bike right away.

How about Debbie and everyone else out there? Say hi to everyone at home

The North fork of the lake is 44 miles, and the south fork is 38, and they meet at the hydroelectric dam that is 15 miles downstream from the new homestead. The new homestead is 1/2 mile from the water, so you come and visit, and we aill catch some fish! There are fish in lake Keystone that weigh over 50 pounds (25 KG); and below the Dam there are some paddlefish that top out twice that; and are 5 foot Plus long! The stripers (Bass) are 10 KG range. We can have some FUN, ROFLOL!

Billy is the Man that started feeding the Homeless with me. He rents camping gear for a living, so I have lots of backpacks and gear available. I just don't have the time to go camping with a backpack anymore.

SCUBA is a fun hobby that will open a new world to you, you should try it, it is really fun. Ocean diving is special, and you will see things you will not believe!

Debbie is doing well, and we just got her hair cleaned and set, so she feels good. We will go to church in the morning, should be a lot of fun with friends.

I will help my Son work on his house Sunday afternoon in the attic to do some minor upgrades. He bought it recently, and it is in pretty good shape. But every house needs work, and his is no exception, so we will do some upgrades, then add some new insulation to save energy..

:)

That's one huge lake, its almost like a canal.

OMG those are some big fish, I don't think we will catch them, I fear they might catch us and make some nice bar b q underwater :D

That is how life is, we either have the passion, or youth, or money or the time to do something in life. We do not really get all at the same time.

yeah all I want is a treasure which I can take home lol but sure ocean would have some things unseen yet underneath it.

She must be very happy, say hi to her :) and have fun with the friends, good luck :)

That's true, even if you buy a newly built house, it still requires some upgrades. We just do not get something perfect from the market ever. How's your son? I hope he's doing fine at his job. Good luck @smithlabs
