Purple Glow of the Flowers :: Beautiful Japan #64

in #photography6 years ago

To me, flowers are happiness.

The wisteria bloom shortly after the cherry blossoms end. In fact the wisteria festival often starts as soon as the cherry blossom festival ends. Stalls selling Japanese junk food like okonomiyaki or taiyaki make plenty of money in this season†.

The wisteria are long and blow gently with the wind. While that sometimes makes for challenging photos, in this photo I embraced it and took a long-exposure, letting them blur together.

Footnotes

†: Here's some trivia for you: these food stalls at all the Japanese festivals are usually run by yakuza. In fact festivals in general in Japan have a lot of yakuza connections.

Why picture looks blur?

It was a long-exposure, around 30 seconds but perhaps close to a minute, so the flowers were swinging back and forth from the wind multiple times as the photo was exposing, making them blur together like that.

Thank you for your information.

And achieved a stunning effect in the process :)

Beautiful! The flowers look ethereal and mysterious, without out the people around you'd think that the picture was a painting.

Thanks :) Hmm.... maybe next time I should take a much longer exposure to try to get rid of all the people. You just gave me an idea!

Glad I can be of help. Looking forward to your next idea!

I quite like it with the people actually - it adds a very surreal feeling

It made for a very interesting photo!
