Aren't they lovely?

Now_For_My_Close-Up.jpg

I took this shot with my wide-angle lens. A bit of an unusual idea, but I am always experimenting with things. This was literally as close to the leaf as I could get. I know it still looks a bit far away, but that is the magic of the wide-angle lens—in truth, that lower leaf was actually touching the glass. I dig the effect it created.

The park I took this at was almost entirely red. They really go overboard with Japanese maple trees in this country. Not many oranges, yellows, browns, or rusty reds present—pretty much all you get is yellow and mainly red.

There is a small zoo at this park so my wife and son often go there while I wander around in the nature, taking photos. I think they pretend like they don't know the strange foreigner talking to the trees.

Bravo, great shot and of course I love the red and yellow in the leaves. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for the comment :)

Very beautiful picture. Japanese maples always look very bright. I like their variety of shades. Your experiment with the lens I also liked it. To me it is somewhat reminiscent of the stereo effect. Thank you!

Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you :)
