Crimson Red P.C.B. Chapter 9 "Turn and Burn" (Cyberpunk Fiction)

Floor by floor, Jarome, Britney, and Megana moved in formation covering each other and still clearing corners at every stairwell landing. The marble speckled floor of the lobby was scared from an explosion earlier in the heist. Looking out the glass door into the street they saw five security patrol cars with the building surrounded by armored Lone Star shock troopers. Jarome shook his head with an angry contorted expression.

“Why did we not go up to the roof and leave with The Cleaner ?” he asked obviously confused about the change in the agreed upon plan.

“Because if we took the return trip we had to pay him another third of the profit.” Britney replied. “He should be giving us cover though. “

“Great, where is it ?” Jarome spoke as he kept his head behind a marble pillar and was interrupted by a loud speaker P.A.

“This Is the Allegheny county police department, We have the building surrounded. This is your only opportunity to surrender before we use lethal force.”

Gripping the stock of his assault riffle and opening the glass entrance door slowly with the barrel teeth groves Jarome is responded by a string of several shots fired at the door, Shattering the door and ricochet past his head. An insanely radiating pain flashed through his entire shoulder as it teared the muscle and bone, and he began to bleed. He Ducked back and screamed.

“AHHH .. FUCK ... RADIO HIM NOW!!! BEFORE WE GET KILLED!”

“Hold pressure on that, stop it from bleeding. “ Britney responded while keying up her microphone and calling The Cleaner. “Cleaner! ... We still need that cover fire. Where are you?, Chummer. “

The crackling over the radio a few strenuous moments of nothing but silence and then a noise from outside. A mechanical buzz that ripped loudly through the sky and sent down a spray of lead bullets from the sky. The Cleaner was killing dozens of police officers with his helicopter mounted mini gun, Effectively causing enough chaos in the street for Britney, Jarome, and Megana to make their escape to the van outside. Running out of the Overture Kinkade building and out into the bloody street Britney pounded the back panel door of the van that had been blocked in by police patrol cars.

Jarome and Megana roll out a pair of BMW Motoradd Motorcycles and rev their engines holding the clutch. Britney did the same with a third, and they began to maneuver through the dead Lone Star patrols, only to hear in the distance more sirens wailing. A robotic Police Drone unit was closing in and The Cleaner had already gained several meters in altitude and was not turning around.

“We need to move, ... Burn rubber!” Megana said before she found a straight away clear and realised the clutch on her bike, revved the throttle and took off down the asphalt roadway. The other two runners ripped across the road after her, In attempt to get past the pursuing drone unit.
