Mazda is recently one of the brands that made the biggest rebirth and its line of vehicles, which was becoming increasingly faded years ago, replaced with new generations, which now look truly modern. Specific overturning was essential, as the curve of sales had been turned down for a while, and it took some drastic measures to repair it all. As they say, they started with the CX-5, which immediately became a true success, and later with all the others. Today they do not have a representative in their line that would not be interesting and appealing to a consumer.

Since then, CX-5 has acquired more than 1.6 million customers and has become the best-selling model in the history of the brand, if we look at only one generation. He received over 70 different awards and, despite being a beginner, he also made a concrete introduction to the phrase 'sky active', which he still uses with advantage. You know, it's about technology or a gearbox-chassis assembly, which makes their cars so ride-friendly.

This is now the new generation, which will have to get into the big boots of the previous one. That's why it's very aggressive at a glance and you will not miss it. In particular, the front mask is really sharply cut, like a shark, but if you look at it completely from the front or from the side the car just looks amazing. The back of the car is a bit more reserved, but it works modernly and harmoniously, and it simply looks elegant. From the richest equipment model, some expected more colorful ingenuity, at least some red or white line, which would all come to life, as well as some more additional equipment, such as a panoramic roof. But the quality of the worksmanship is on an enviable level, the materials are excellent, there is no crying or a hollow, where you put your hand, it's almost always soft. I can only praise this area.

They also made a lot of changes in interior around the driver, the environment is actually an improved version of the one from the previous generation. The switches are in similar places and not much different, the interface of the screen is actually the same, which is not an offense, because it is excellent, well-known and has been completed all together. According to the modern criteria, the screen could be even bigger, but still transparent, I still support the fact that it is touch sensitive only when the car is not moving, and when driving you can use the switches and button nob at the transmision area.

The ride is similar to that of the previous generation. The CX-5 is going pretty well and better than most rivals, but I still expected more. It does not seem too numb and follows very carefully with turns, but it bounces or shocks at times as much as I would like. Although most of the time it is pleasantly quiet, but it is still a bit of a run-off from the track. And the feeling on the steering wheel is just too artificial. For the 18-inch rims, I first thought that they were too small because I would work even more with a bigger car, but for the driver's convenience, choose exactly that. 18 inches means that the CX-5 is more comfortable, but still firm enough.

It has enough space, similarly as before, since the dimensions of the car are almost identical. This means that four passengers will sit luxuriously, the fifth will be a little less, and the boot will mostly satisfy the holiday needs, which is why I conclude that the second generation CX-5 is one of the better segment representatives.

Overall i think the car is great family car, but also suited for those who want more sporty feel when driving.

• Interior materials look and feel luxurious
• A lot of equipment for a decent price
• CX-5 is among the best cars in its segment

• Not so comfortable drive as expected
• Too artificial steering
• Back window has low visibility
