Paying-it-forward

As many are aware, there are ‘activities’ on here that could be construed as a ‘war’. Flag-war as many refer to it. Regardless of what any of our opinions are on the subject matter, my message today is not about picking a side. It’s about saying thank you to those who have helped us along the way.

I came on here to meet people and learn about this Steemit platform. There is reward pool abuse. There is also kindness and generosity and a gathering of human spirit who shares in promoting positivity and goodwill. My point is to embrace this positivity and pay-it-forward.

I intend to send all SBD earnings from this post to @friendsofgondor as a gesture of appreciation to all the Stewards of the #stewardsofgondor that have upvoted and/or acknowledged any of us red fishes.

The Stewards delegated their SP to help build communities, and at this moment, their SP is lackluster at best. Nearly all have decided to keep their delegations in place to support their communities, i.e., newbies, homesteading, curation, etc. It is now our turn to pay-it-forward and give what small upvote we can to them. If you are not familiar with @friendsofgondor or #friendsofgondor, then please read @davemccoy’s reasoning for his Peaceful Way of helping to show our support for the #stewardsofgondor.

I've never liked to mention-tag, but I will do so on this one occasion only. Apologies ahead to the Stewards that may perceive this as a mention-spam.

Have your time here been positively influenced by meeting me or my teammates with Team BeeYOU? Have you had the pleasure of meeting @davemccoy and benefited in any way from your contact with him? Have you ever received an upvote from any of the Stewards listed below?

If the answer is YES, then we would appreciate an upvote on this post because we want to let @fulltimegeek know that every single person that voted on this post appreciate the support the Stewards have and still are giving to support our communities.

The Newbie Resteem Initiative is able to extend our reaches to newbies due to the generosity of the Stewards we’ve met thus far. It is because of the SP delegation from two amazing Stewards of the #stewardsofgondor (@abh12345 and @coolguy123, and indirectly from @fulltimegeek) that we’ve been able to help every newbie we’ve met.

We were able to establish the @newbieresteemday and @newbiegames accounts that make it possible to support our newbie community. Dave received SP delegations that enabled him to use the voting slider to spread his vote in the community. We should all be familiar with the ‘Newbie Nickel’ by now.

My goal is say thank you to all the Stewards that has, at one point or another, touched our lives here on Steemit.

NOW, to keep this post from being a SPAM or PANHANDLING post, I’ll share with you my journey here on to Steemit and some words of thanks. People do that, don’t they?

There are few occasions when I am passionate enough about a topic to write on. I’m not a blogger by nature. When a coworker first told me about Steemit, I said to him, “I don’t have time to blog.” It’s the truth. I have a life outside of Steemit. I have a stable career, a wonderful family, and good friends. I am blessed with good health and love from my family and friends. Steemit is NOT my source of income. I joke with @davemccoy all the time that I would love to earn enough from my posts one day to buy my daily cup of DD coffee.

The truth is, not many people stop by my blog. My earnings are dismal if you deduct the obvious ‘promotion’ services. The people that do stop by my blog are the friends I’ve made in my short time on here. I appreciate their love and support and they in return have my love and support. Also, since Team BeeYOU is a group account, we are excluded from ever hitting it big with curie@. So I write on here simply for the pleasure of writing.

Journey on Steemit

My journey on Steemit started when my coworker told me about this blogging platform. At the time, Bitcoin was at its peak value, and I couldn’t believe I had never heard of cryptocurrency before then. I was in my comfort world, my cozy life and didn’t care much for current events aside for ones that mattered to me. So I made the decision to stop sticking my head in the sand like an ostrich. I decided to learn about this new cryptocurrency world. At first, I started off by buying Steem cryptocurrency and planned to HODL. My investment doubled in a week so it was a smart investment.

When I researched this platform, I liked the fact one person could help to change someone else’s life on here. My penny vote combined with many others could mean a meal to someone in a third world country. My penny vote could mean a new laptop for someone who fell on hard times. My penny vote matters. Since my time on here is limited, I invested some of the Steem cryptocurrency I purchased and powered up so I could at least have a $0.01 upvote value to my name.

Rocky Start

So I started off on my Steemit journey in December, 2017. And I earned $0.00 to pennies on my posts. I soon came to realize that you have to be a part of a community on here to succeed. Steemit Life very much mirrors the real world. So I gave up with the idea of ‘steeming-it ' alone. My time on here is limited as it is, and no way could I succeed on my own. If anyone cares to find out about my account, it’s all there on steemd. You can see my pathetic earnings for yourself. There is no point of mentioning it because I’m not on there anymore. I lent the account to my coworker who loves to play sport contests, and delegated what small SP I built over to Team BeeYOU.

Bee_YOU.jpg

Team BeeYOU

I approached the team blogging concept for BeeYOU with some friends who are also working professionals with family. They too, don’t have time to blog. Some agreed to lurk, others told me they were simply too busy. Our team would have been badass if everyone I invited agreed to join. They are all smart individuals and well-established in their careers. I still think our team is awesome (hello Andy and Mello!) but we are all relatively new to cryptocurrency and Steemit. We are still understanding and learning this Steemit universe. We probably have 14+ years of college education between us, and 60+ years of work experience combined. Our knowledge of Steemit, however, is limited at the moment. Every day we learn something new and we grow along with the platform. Every day we make new friends and they stop by and share what upvote worth they have on our posts/comments.

THANK YOU TO ALL THE FRIENDS I'VE MADE ON HERE.

I stay on here not in hopes of ever becoming a dolphin or whale. The chances of that happening is slim to none. I stay because I’ve grown to love the people I’ve met on here (hello #newbieresteemday members!). People like @davemccoy with his endlessly polite and lengthy replies (yes, he can say a bad word now and then. I’ve witnessed it.) People like @mudcat36 who sent me a Valentine’s Day gift simply because he wanted to thank me for my time spent with the initiative. People like @amariespeaks who patiently listens to me ‘rant’ on Discord when I’m irked by something or another. People like @simplymike who sponsored a share for me with @steembasicincome, simply because she wants to show appreciation to the members of our initiative that may not be in the spotlight. I can go on with my teammates from the Newbie Resteem Initiative (@bashadow, @lynncoyle1,@gracefavour, @ilovepoorpeople and some of our newest members @malloryblythe, @seaslim, and @kismet2018.) There are so many other team members, that if I were to name them all, would take up this whole post! They’ve had a positive impact on my life here and I appreciate their friendship.

There are also individuals outside of our #newbieresteemday initiative that I admire and respect.

Asher (@abh12345) with his fabulous Curation leagues. He makes it a point to stop by our members’ blogs now and then to show his support. I appreciate the support he has shown me. He was the first Steward to support our #newbieresteemday community. He has continued his support to our initiative by delegating SP to @davemccoy, @bashadow, @lynncoyle1, and @themanwithnoname.

There is no way you miss knowing about @abh12345. If you've ever received an upvote from @bashadow, you will know in his comment that the upvote is made possible due to the delegation received from Asher. We all love @bashadow!

There is @coolguy123 with his SP delegation to the @newbieresteemday account, which allowed us to highlight some of our newbies in the community. Our upvote value may not pack a punch, but we strive to lift the spirits of our newbie authors and gather a bigger audience for them.

We’ve had some of our highlighted newbies selected by curie@. Imagine how incredible the feeling must have been to come online and see a big $70+ pending payout on their post.

There is @goldendawne with volunteering her time to mentor our newbie community.

There is also @danielsaori who partnered with our initiative to give our newbies a chance to learn about community engagement and the value of making quality “comments”.

Last, but not least, there is @inquiringtimes, whose support led to @davemccoy receiving a 500 SP delegation for a 90-day period.

I may not have much time to spend on Steemit. It may take five minutes to five days to reply back to your comments (I’m sorry guys but I still love you!!), but I will scroll back through my ginabot messages and make sure I do reply back. Why? Because I appreciate every single person that took the time to type one character on their keyboard/phone to send me a message.

These are my words of thanks and appreciation to everyone that have provided friendship, guidance, and support to me here on Steemit.

@beeyou we talk all the time and you know how I feel about you! And I know I have been known to gloat of your beautiful messages with words a time or two. But you always find a way to say something that amazes even me and puts the right perspective on what is happening at the time. And you did it again!

The definition of charming according to Websters:

You are charming @beeyou and you bring that charm with you every day to help us all be better. I honestly don't know how you do it.

But I'm grateful for it...

And I am also grateful you are our teammate, and more importantly my friend!

I know how late you stay up to help me... how many times you take on tasks that wouldn't get done without you... and why you are always looking out for us like our angel!

Its because you care about us and want to see us all grow. You are one of those people in life that care more about others than you do yourself. And it shows.

So I won't rehash the point of your article because you already did that better than I ever could. I agree with everything you say in there (except for the "bad words" comment about me), and you made a point that I didn't make properly in my post. Steemit is amazing and the people that I've met here are the greatest collection of souls I've ever met in such a short time. I could've never imagined having so many friends in such a short period of time in my life!

Thank for pointing it out and thank you for being so "extremely pleasing and delightful" every single day! :)

I keep putting off with responding to you because I'm just not sure what to say. Bee the happy cheerleader? Bee the gracious busy bee? Bee the humble friend? How about just Bee Me?!

Well @davemccoy. I can say the same to you. Definitely charming. Ask your 5,000+ followers, is that the right count now? You have our team members' best interests at heart as well. Who else could mentor our newbies, host contests, write the initiative's posts, socialize, and give time to chat with me daily? Definitely not me. You give up your time to all the members and everyone adores you. It's the truth.

Your post was written with the sincerest intentions of paying it forward to those that helped build this initiative of ours. Those that gave us support when no one else payed us newbies any mind. There is no fault with that. Never any fault when your intentions are genuine and true.

So give yourself a pat on the back, and let's enjoy the next wave together.

Well I knew you were smart, articulate and awfully sweet, but this now proves it once again :) What a lovely post to show your appreciation; I feel the exact same way and am so happy to support this 'battle' going on, but also to have found such a great group of people to journey with along the way.

And by the way, if @amariespeaks is ever unavailable to listen to your rants, you know where to find me ;)

Thanks again for a wonderful post @beeyou...you really are amazing!

I knew I forgot something @lynncoyle1 when I wrote back to you that night, probably sleep deprived. Thanks for the offer to listen if I want to ‘rant’ again. I’m sure @amariespeaks and @davemccoy would love some peace and quiet😉. That’s what I forgot! Remembered one day later.

Same to you, if you ever want to chat and get away from your Steemit bf ❤️.

haha... funny!

haha @amariespeaks and @beeyou! Well, steemit is my new boyfriend, but Discord is that other fun guy I like to hang out with, so I'm always around somewhere to listen for sure :)

Shucks, thanks @lynncoyle1. You’re always so positive and happy. We are an awesome bunch and I am happy as well to find this community of ours!

I only give authentic compliments, just so you know :)

Of course, I know that too. That’s why you always brighten my day when we run into each other “engaging” online. 🙂

lol @lynncoyle1 taking one for the team !! @beeyou is totally exaggerating lol her rants are completely tolerable and well deserved! ;-)

I am glad to give back to the cause and to the people, i love to vote, it may only be 2 or 3 cents, but because of Ashe, I can easily give that to lots and lots of people, I remember well all the post I made with nothing, so a couple of pennies are always appreciated, by new users, even just a comment lets them know at least someone read what they took the time to post. And I read each and every post I comment on. I may not watch the videos, but I do read. I have appreciated all the support I have received, and am happy to return it when I can.

Hey @bashadow...it's difficult too understand why some folks vote but don't read the post. Kind of goes against what is supposed to be an authentic appreciation of someone's thoughts and work. I love being able to vote so much as well; and it makes me smile seeing your upvoting all over the place :)

And speaking of upvoting, thank you again for showing me how to work the slider...it makes a huge difference!

I loved the day I figured that slider out. Wait until you have the real one it is easier no futzing, but you still need to use the steemworld one to see how much your vote is a certain percentage, because the real one does not show the dollar/penny value just percentage.

I always appreciate the upvotes you give to our team @bashadow. I know you read the posts/comments because I always see a ‘human’ comment on your replies. Lol, I saw Asher’s post on bots.

Now I know who you folks are that removed me from my spot hahahha! I will be back one of these days!!!

But seriously thank you for what you, Dave and the rest of this community is doing. This pay-it-forward attitude and spreading of the votes and comments just shows the spirit of @fulltimegeek is alive and well lit as he goes to fight a cave troll.

It is awesome people like you that shows that Steemit as a community has a bright future.

Hey @maverickinvictus. Here we are in a nutshell. Thanks for taking the time to read this post for Dave’s contest. Appreciate it! We all have to contribute that team spirit in order to give Steemit a brighter future.

Good luck in getting your top spot back! You now have two contestants to dethrone. Dave and the manwithnoname. 🙂

Ha!I'm not even going to compete with them because I'll need to have 4 users to be able to do that.

I do want to help out what I can to the newbieresteemday initiative.

I gave up on competing with Dave a long time ago! Now two comment kings to dethrone? No thank you!

I do want to help out what I can to the newbieresteemday initiative.

You just said the magic words, Mave. :)

Our members are not keen on following set rules. They decide what/how they want to help with the initiative and go from there. Some choose to host contests to to give our newbies a chance to earn income, others do a weekly post highlight the newbies that use our #newbieresteemday tag. Others simply like to resteem or go around mentoring the newbies.

We let everyone find their own talent and decide themselves how they want to contribute to the team. We really are just a bunch of good-hearted people giving up some time to help others. @davemccoy may even have some ideas of his own on the comment you made. He loves hearing that.

Do you know a lot of our members are in league 2? That is quite something!

I help out by writing the weekly recap and also with the curation team for @newbieresteemday. My weekly buzz is outdated since I'm almost 3 weeks behind, but you can get a gist of us in there. Most recent listed first. :)

I have never heard of #stewardsofgondor but recognize quite a few names on that list!
Looks like another great way to help out the community! <3

Hi @creativesoul. Neither had I until my first encounter with a steward. I believe FullTimeGeek delegated around 300k to the SOGs members. They in turn had the paying it forward mentality to delegate that SP to communities and noted members. Due to the flag war events, Fulltimegeek had to undelegate the SP for the time being. Many of the stewards have chosen to leave their delegations with the communities in place instead of retracting and using it for their own gain.

Our community and team members of the #newbieresteemday initiative are recipients of the delegated SP.

I know this post didn’t make the time cutoff, but I appreciate you taking the time to stop by!

@davemccoy has helped me here on steemit with kind words and an upvote. I wish you even more kindness to you and others whom may see my post. Love, light and prosper to everyone.

Hi @charisma1. I know Dave will appreciate the nice words. Thanks for the best wishes and I wish the same love, light and prosper to you. I’ll have to stop by to see some of your affirmations soon!

Absolutely! I have recently started a Daily fact/useless information post as well, they are actually kind of interesting. I know I like to learn something new everyday :) Of course the daily positive I AM’s are important to me as well. Thank you

Stopped by and saw the ones on the stomach acid and brain capacity. Interesting tidbits. I didn’t realize your affirmations are from your own photos. Thst’s cool!

Yes they are, I feel using my own photos gives it a personal touch, a little charisma 😉

100% upvote on this my dear!! you are amazing !

@rikaz87 deversity in unity

Hi @rikaz87. Always good to see you! I want you to continue participating! Continuing writing your posts and join some of the contests going on right now. Come join my personality contest. There’s still time. You can describe one of your kids and that’s ok too. Short and simple. I’m glad you are upgrading your account. Go play so we can give you more upvotes to build your account.

Thank you for response, nice to hear from you. Joy your fun

I try not to fight if I don’t have to, I’d rather give my energy to building something. That’s not to say we don’t need to defend ourselves sometimes, but I hope this “war” can stop feeling like a war and start feeling like an attempt at building an even better community.

We meet again @whatamidoing. We’re also in the same Discord room. I understand your sentiment about building. I feel that what many of us can do is surround ourselves with good people and collectively work towards building a better community. There are always room for improvements in our life on and off Steemit.

For sure, that is basically the idea behind everything that I do on and off steemit. I can be a bit sassy sometimes though as I guess you probably have noticed already. Nice to meet you!

Nothing wrong with sassy @whatamidoing. I like spunk!

Hello there,

So, our communities meet again :)

Glad you guys have our backs hehehe.

Upvoted!

Our community is supported by two wonderful Stewards so we definitely have your backs @spiritualmax!

Join the Empire, I would be thrilled to support your community as well, and we have an embassy with your name on it.

:)

I just saw you are a F5 Ax-Wielding Dwarf 10 Bill (role ranking for the quest). How awesome are you @spiritualmax! We hope our little upvotes from FOG could help to heal any wounds.

I would be thrilled to support your community as well, and we have an embassy with your name on it.

Those are words @davemccoy loves to hear! I know you probably have your hands full at the moment, but we gladly welcome another awesome sponsor into our community.

I will let Dave take over with his super, dupey (and polite) comment. He shared an artwork the other day. I believe this superb artwork is from you. :)

I believe you underestimate the power of your spells @beeyou, it is your charm that is the key ingredient! So just tell @spiritualmax we accept his invitation to join the Empire and we will move into our embassy effective immediately ;) ... :D

ps... I can't wait for him to get to know you, now that card will be amazing!!!

Sent Dave the invite.

Will see you guys on the other side.
:)

You better beware @spiritualmax, our head cheerleader @beeyou aka the allseeingbee might cast a spell on you. She has already convinced me she is an angel, and she has also found her way into the hearts of @abh12345 and @coolguy123! She's a spell-caster for "good" of course, but if you're not careful she will put you to work... lol ;)

Hehehehe, I see, I see!
Here's the invite, you and whoever wants to is free to join the Empire.

Hit me up once you're there.
