Contest No. 21 -- Read Any Good Books Lately?

Hey, everyone! It’s time for our next contest!

Today’s easy contest is super easy if you like to read. And I love to read. I hope you do too!

All you have to do to be eligible to win this one is leave a comment and tell us your favorite book. Add the author name too please! That and upvote this post.

Here’s my answer:

The Cider House Rules by John Irving

The Deadline

This contest will be open for 7 days. When this post pays out in 7 days, the contest closes.

The Prize

The winner will earn half (50%) of the SBD earned from this post!

As the "judge," I have the final say on who wins.

Rules To Play

Be sure to follow these two rules or your comment / entry won't count. Yes, there are only two! It's really simple!

  1. Hit Reply and tell us your favorite book and that book’s author.
  2. Upvote this post.

The more people who upvote, the more the payout will be. It's simple.

NOTE: Please don’t write anything along the lines of "upvote me!" or "follow me." If you do, you'll be disqualified. That contributes absolutely nothing and is just spammy, so don't do it. Please!

Winner Announcement

After 7 days when the contest ends, the winner will be either randomly chosen or I will choose a winner. I will announce the winner that day (or the next day in case I get busy or it's late in the day and I'm snoozing).

For this contest, I'll use an online random picker so everyone has the same odds of winning!

Spread the Word!

Let your Steemit friends and followers know about this contest so more can play! It's easy and hopefully will be fun.

And the more who play, the bigger the prize will be.

So, feel free to Resteem this post or link it to promotion groups. Thanks for playing!

I don't really read fiction often so hopefully an educational book is okay. I liked "Predictive Analytics - the power to predict who will click, buy, lie, or die" by Eric Siegel a lot!

That sounds really interesting, sort of like Malcolm Gladwell's books.

I'm a Game of Thrones fan, my favorite book is obviously A Song of Ice and Fire, Book 1 - Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin. I am actually rereading it right now while waiting for the Book 6 of the series.

Cool. Nice to like a book enough to reread it!

One of my favorite series...I actually stopped watching the TV series since book 6 isn't done. I am about ready to go hunt down Mr. Martin and be his typist to help him get this cranked out ...it's been 5 yrs already LOL.

haha! You should!

We are just starting. Thank you so much for the support.

Thanks for the resteem! I sincerely appreciate it.

Mi libro favorito es: Los Miserables de Victor Hugo

Darn I've read so many I don't know if I could pick one...... I think I'll have to go with The Road by Cormac McCarthy. It's dark / gritty and minimalist just the way I like'em.

OMG that was the one I was gonna say!!! It's absolutely brilliant.

Damn... gonna have to pick another one now :P

That scene with the baby still gives me chills.

Oh yes. BBQ baby. The whole novel was haunting. I remember reading it with a feeling of dread in my stomach throughout. Such talent!

You have great taste in books :P

Exactly how I felt - I knew what was going to happen I could feel it coming. Likeb watching a slasher flick and you can see the killer but the protagonist can't. I had to put it down and walk away from it for like a week.

Lol, I know. It was very tense. I read it over a couple of days. It was part of one of my courses at the time. So glad it was there. Some of the other books I had to read were terrible :P

laters :D

This is a random winner so the same answer is fine!

Oh brill. Great idea to get people to share their fav books. Love it :D

I wouldn't call The Road my favorite but I certainly love it. Great choice!

I struggled - 1984 - the outsiders - apprenticeship of duddy kravits - Raise High the Roof Beam, Carpenters and Seymour: An Introduction - a child called it - the long walk - God I could keep going - the mind parasites. I dread the idea of choosing a favorite film.

I love 1984 too! Dystopian/post-apocalyptic fiction is my favorite genre. I think it explores humanity in the most fascinating ways.

Sounds good. He's a well loved author.

Gosh this is hard Peggy - so many good books! The Into the wilderness series by Sara Donati springs to mind as very good reads :)

I haven't heard of those. Might have to check them out. And I agree, so many good books!!

One of the books a loved reading was legend by marie lu

Thanks for playing. I haven't heard of this book.

Its good book its part of a trilogy havent started reading the other 2 yet but looking forward to it

My favourite book is Wind In The Willows.

My favorite book is "smart money woman" by Arese.

Sounds like a winner!
