NeedleWorkMonday Featured Posts #23
Hello needleworkers and supporters! Welcome to @needleworkmonday’s Featured Posts #23! This is a weekly Curation showcasing the needlework of our very own Steemians. Every Monday we get together to share our love and passion for the needle arts using the #needleworkmonday tag. On all other days we use the #needlework tag. We enjoy each other’s creations, ideas, patterns, tips and shortcuts.
We strive to bring to you great quality work filled with tutorials and inspiration. Please help us keep these wonderful needle arts alive and thriving by supporting our work and community!
Wow this was such a Fantastic Fun week of sharing! We had so many wonderful needlework posts sharing beautiful creations. I couldn’t narrow the choices down to the usual three or four so I will be featuring five posts for today’s showcase! I invite you to grab a cup of tea or coffee, relax and enjoy ;)
Let’s get to it...
DIY | Arm Knitting? Jumbo Knit Heirloom Throws by @birdsinparadise
Where are her needles you ask? You’re looking right at them...her arms! Instead of picking up jumbo knitting needles @birdsinparadise decides to give this technique of arm knitting a go. She has made a total of three throws that she has gifted to her daughters. If you’re looking for a quick, fun project look no further! Isn’t that thick jumbo yarn beautiful?!
The sock sequel by @neumannsalva
Would you believe me if I told you this was the first pair she ever knitted? Well they are, impressive right?! @neumannsalva took on the challenge to make her husband a pair of socks because the socks given to him by his late grandmother are no longer in tip top shape. She is currently working on her own pair using hand dyed yarn. She also shares some nice tool tips if you are interested in taking on this sock voyage!
My Actifit Report Card: January 7 2019 /My Needlework 2019 start!/私の針仕事初め by @aitommylr
This was @aitommylr first time sharing with us for #NeedleWorkMonday and it was a pleasure welcoming her to the community! Sometimes it’s hard to find items that fit your preference or needs. Those that do handcrafts can decide to make their own and that’s what @aitommylr has decided to do. She shares the first steps of making her own cover for her reference book. Her embroidery work is so beautiful and we look forward to seeing her work progress.
Needleworkmonday: Maybelle Flower Crochet Coasters by @romeskie
@romeskie shares her excitement with us as she makes these adorable coasters to ship off to Switzerland. She includes a link to the easy to follow pattern along with a step by step tutorial with pictures. She plans to make these in colorful sets.
NEEDLEWORKMONDAY: YARNBOMB INSTALLATION by @jurich60
Have you ever heard of yarn bombing? It is covering objects or structures in public places with decorative and colorful knitted or crotcheted material. At @jurich60’s crochet group worked together to complete their first yarn bombing on trees. The two groups got together to assemble and join the shared work. It is very inspiring to see this group of people working together to complete one goal.
Thank you for stopping by to view our featured posts for this week! Please stop by their posts and show them some love with a read and an upvote for sharing their handmade creations! I loved all of these! @neumannsalva, congratulations on finishing the socks on time. They came out great. @jurich60, the best yarn bombing yet!!!!! Arm knitting, embroidery and crocheted coaster! These posts were great too!
Thank you so much... but ahem... only 1 and a half was finished on Christmas :-D But I was very fast in the days afterwards to complete the second sock. And I am with you @jurich60 project is amazing.
When looking at all the beautiful and so divers project you shared, I now know why so many got a higher vote then usual: all so beautiful and cool. I already wrote @jurich60 because her yarn bomb artwork is so special (I love the space picture with the little alien - and all worked in crochet<3)
And again, your curation post is so helpful, as I missed @aitommylr lovely embroidery and @birdsinparadise huge arm-knitted blanket.
Thank you for your awesome curation work!
I am deeply impressed by the introduction of posts.
People who do needlework can decide what to make themselves.
It is a very positive and wonderful way of living.
This community reminded me of important things.
You can knit socks that look like that? Wow!! And at first knit too... very impressive :)
Love those coasters.... too cute
But my favourite has to be the tree that's all decked up .... I have never heard of such a thing.... so I am off to read it to find out more.... :D
Such cool projects they all are so cool, but the one I hope I see a version of one day is a yarn bomb om a tree I have seen photos on the web, but never actually seen one myself in person
All the girls are great !!!! beautiful posts and wonderful work! we have more and more different masters of completely new methods of needlework. this is good!!!!
