Hello needleworkers and supporters! @crosheille here welcoming you to @needleworkmonday’s Featured Posts #22! This is a weekly Curation showcasing the needlework of our very own Steemians. Every Monday we get together to share our love and passion for the needle arts using the #needleworkmonday tag. On all other days we use the #needlework tag. We enjoy each other’s creations, ideas, patterns, tips and shortcuts.

We strive to bring to you great quality work filled with tutorials and inspiration. Please help us keep these wonderful needle arts alive and thriving by supporting our work and community!

I call this the ‘Method Share’ week because all of the following featured posts share a particular method they experimented with or prefer. Let’s get started...

#needleworkmonday :: A week of sewing and alterations 👖 by @marblely

Do you have growing kids that sprout out of their clothing way too fast? @marblely was given the opportunity to change this dilemma. She was asked to alter her nephews’ school trousers by shrinking the waistline and shortening the length. The trick was doing all of this without cutting so the changes can be quickly removed for longer wear. Come check out the method she chose and see if the end result was a fit!

When you explore and practice with different methods you began figuring out ways that work or don’t work. @cryptocariad has been experimenting the brioche knitting stitch. She has figured out a strategy to avoid getting those loops at the edge of her work. Practice, practice and more practice will help you get the results you seek ;D

Top-down cardigan experiment - progress so far :) by @shanibeer

@shanibeer is experimenting with the top-down cardigan method. It is pretty much like it sounds, you knit starting from the top of the garment (neckline) on down. She likes the way it fits so far and shares what she still has to do. She’s already planning for her next one :)

NeedleworkMonday: Frogging and preparing for re-use / Ribbeln und Wiederaufarbeiten by @muscara

If you work with yarn and needle you most likely have heard the term “frogging”. It means to undo your work or rip it as @muscara explains in this post. One of her methods of rewrapping the yarn is using a tool called a nostepinne. This is the first I heard of it and thought it was an interesting method to use.
