Movie Review: Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
Hey Steemians
I'm back again with another movie review, I finally got around to finally watching Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and after watching it I'm glad I streamed it and didn't pay to go and see it in the cinema, what an absolute waste of time it was. Normally I wouldn't reveal my opinion so early but hot damn this movie was painfully boring.
The Plot
Fallen Kingdom takes place three years after the destruction of the Jurassic World theme park, Owen Grady and Claire Dearing aren't as lovey-dovey as before and have both supposidly moved on with their lives. Due to a set of events, they are reunited and have to return to the island of Isla Nublar to save the remaining dinosaurs from a volcano that's about to erupt. They soon encounter terrifying new breeds of gigantic dinosaurs, while uncovering a conspiracy that threatens the entire planet.

What it got right
The CGI naturally was epic, geez these things are looking better and better with each iteration, the scenes, while they are on the Island, are stunning and some of the underwater shots you cannot believe this isn't real. I really have to say hats off to the team who put these shots together, since visually its a really busy movie and the attention to detail must be applauded.
Unfortunately, that's about it! The rest of it was pretty terrible.
Too many cooks in making of this broth
The movie tries to be too many things and steals elements of other blockbusters thinking that combining it will make for an epic story but instead it ends up being a complicated non-cohesive mess. We deal with environmental issues and the question of ethics and how far we as humans should be allowed to go when manipulating nature, then we're thrown into a natural disaster, then we're thrown into cloning , family and friend betrayal, evil capitalists, military and war profiteering, its all too much and all done poorly.
With so much happening in this movie along with the visuals as I mentioned earlier, you can imagine there will be little room for any character development and you would be correct. Claire and Owen are such a stale love story it's not worth mentioning, their new partners a nerdy dude and a strong smart female don't offer much and could have been completely cut out of the movie and you wouldn't notice a difference.
The main relationships the movie focuses on is that of a father and daughter and one between the Raptor Blue and Owen, which is weird because Blue wasn't even a memorable character in the previous movie. I see where they were going with this but nah, I'm sorry you'll need to sell me more in order for me to believe they had a special bond and Owen would not have been eaten like everyone in the first movie.
The big reveal of the movie is a new hybrid the Indoraptor which makes the most forgettable appearance ever and it's not long before his well impaled on a statue just like this entire script should have been.
The movie is a poor attempt at a filler and sets itself up for a sequel/trilogy it does not deserve.
My rating
This movie was so boring I found myself opening up partiko and scrolling through my steemit feed to keep myself entertained. This is easily the worst movie in the franchise and really pains me to say it but I have to give it a 4 out of 10.
Give it a miss if you can and remember the Franchise for the previous movies, you will be better off!
