Game Over, Man! (2018) Review - 24 March 2018

in #movie6 years ago

Netflix and Mail Order Company brings you Game Over, Man and for fans of Workaholics like myself, we're happy to see the gang back together again. The last moment sitting on the roof in the final episode saying 'That's a wrap' was one of TV's most emotional and saddening moments, but the show will live on forever in our hearts.

Moving on from the show the Mail Order Company team are back with a bang, lots of bangs, gangbangs and bang bangs!

Three down-on-their-luck housekeepers try to become heroes when gunmen take hostages at a star-studded party inside a fancy Los Angeles hotel is an apt synopsis of the movie. Doesn't sound like a typical comedy plot? That's right it doesn't, but that's what Anders, Blake and Adam have been famed for, there out of the box outlandish comedy from their YouTube channel to their 7 seasons run on Comedy Central with Workaholics.

It's always going to be a wild ride filled with cussing and dirty jokes but an enjoyable one never the less.

Game Over, Man Trailer

As you can tell i'm a big fan of Blake, Adam and the Ders and while they've laid those characters to rest you can't help but draw similarities to their new characters Alexxx (Adam), Darren (Anders) & Joel (Blake). They're still 3 burnouts and instead of telemarketers they work as cleaning staff in a hotel, have big dreams and then somehow fall victim to a Die Hard/Inside man type plot.

During the movie, we find each of the guys wrestling with their own issues Alexxx (DeVine) is all ideas with no follow-through.

Darren (Holm), disillusioned with his workaday grind, continuously vapes to isolate himself from the world around him. ,

Joel (Anderson) is a tinkerer and the industrious one but has locked himself in a closet of glass as he suppressed sexual orientation from the other 2.

During the hostage take down the 3 manage to work out their issues and save the day. But between the begning of the movie and saving the day is a closet filled with dick, vagina and butthole jokes that will leave some of those who are loose butthole pretty cringy.

I for one im hella tight butthole and knew what I was getting myself into and found some classic one lines from the guys having me in stitches. As for the action, it gets gruesome, like blood, guts and dicks all over the place which is something I felt they could tone down on.

I also feel compelled mention the thankless role of the charming character Cassie as the manager played by actor Aya Cash. We also get guest appearances from Shaggy, Donald Faison, Fred Armisen, Jillian Bell, Joel McHale, Sugar Lyn Beard and even Mark Cuban, yes we're getting shark tanked

Finally, as the boys toast to their victory we spot a squad of trained mercenaries coming their way along with some strong hints that a sequel will be on the cards.

My verdict

I would give this movie a solid 7 out 10. Not their best work but certainly funny at times and worth checking out if you're a fan of workaholics

Have your say

Have you seen the movie? Are you a workaholics fan? Which of the 3 buddies is your favourite? What did you think of the movie?
