Shakira vs a friend in a shower – reach your GOALS more EFFECTIVELY

Remember Brick By Brick (BBB) method? If not or haven’t read yet, you can find it here (I highly recommend reading it before you continue). You will find VALUE there same as here, trust me.

We live in a social world where most of us are interconnected with one another. And we grow because we support each other by sharing appropriate knowledge and experiences, right?

Either your parents, grandparents, or any other relatives have probably taught you how to read and count. Other PEOPLE have mostly influenced our improvement in life. Whether Alexander the Great was mentored by Aristotle from age 14 to 16½ and later expanded his father’s Philip’s empire – Macedonia (north of Italy), or Warren Buffet who became one of the world’s TOP richest people was mentored by Benjamin Graham about the investment (one of the things he taught Warren that stuck with me too: “Price is what you pay, value is what you get.” I found it in Warren’s book called A Few Lessons for Investors and Managers). They were taught by someone to become someone.

Regarding Benjamin’s quote (mentioned above), we tend to look for cheaper things to buy but does the price usually reflect the quality (value) of what we actually get? Think about it, whenever you buy something firstly try to compare between several options and brands. If you manage to get a higher value for lower price, congratulations, you are a WINNER! You don’t want to pay more for less value in return (ROI), be careful about it. Usually it happens when we rush into buying something. It’s like value over price game. Take your time but win that game (just like with Cursed Panda).

Mining "Diamonds"

Okay back on track, few of my personal greatest influencers who taught me were Tai Lopez and Leo from Actualized.org. “If I am great it is because I stand on the shoulders of giants.” – Newton. That’s one of the “Diamonds” I’ve mined (sorry no Bitcoins found here). Whaaat? What I actually mean by saying “Diamonds I’ve mined” are the quotes, ideas or thoughts I gather (mine) from others (great achievers) that gives me a lesson, a meaning, an answer. I highly recommend you mining your “Diamonds”. It's fun and aaaa lot of VALUE behind.

Moving on, you have probably got the idea where I am going with this blog. YES, if you want to reach any of your goals waaayyy more EFFECTIVELY, you will have to learn from OTHERS. What do I mean by saying “…waaayyy more EFFECTIVELY”? Well, this way you will save your most valuable costs in life – your TIME and ENERGY (effort).

Now WHO should you listen to? It depends on your goal and how far you want to go with it (how big is your wall you stand in front of?).

Let’s take an example, and let's say your goal is to become a world-class singer. WOOOH! In this case in order to reach your goal in a most efficient way you will have to respectively learn, gather knowledge and experience from current world-class singers like Shakira, Eminem, Adele or Bruno Mars (just to name a few). And yeah Shakira is hot.

Now imagine you start learning from Shakira (“Phew, finally Shakira in the blog”) the way she performs, sings etc. and you know what, she is from the FUTURE for your goal. You might say: “Whyyy?” Because she has already built her wall (goal) – becoming a world-class singer which is your goal too. A wall that is still a far illusion for you at the moment. Simulating her will definitely HELP you building your wall way more efficient than, for instance, listening for an advice from a friend who only sings while in the shower, alone (*laughs*). I’m not saying your friend can give you a wrong advice but in order to get the MOST efficient results you will have to consider listening to more accurate advice which, indeed, comes from Shakira. What do you think? Who would you choose to listen to?

"I can do it myself!"

On the other hand, is it really worth learning from others at all? (“I can do it myself! Just hold my beer.”) Well, here is how Richard Dawkins (famous British biologist) describes simulation: “Survival machines that can simulate the future are one jump ahead of survival machines who can only learn on the basis of overt trial and error. The trouble with overt trial is that it takes time and energy. The trouble with overt error is that it is often fatal. Simulation is both safer and faster.” A lot of great insights (Diamonds) in one of his books – The Selfish Gene.

So how can you simulate people like Shakira? We have several options here: 1) by reading a biography or any other book about her, 2) reading on the internet (only credible sources), 3) watching videos (for example, on YouTube), 4) going to concerts, 5) seminars (if she has some) or 6) meeting face to face (that’s a tough mission).

And for the finishing touch, try to choose wisely who do you listen to and know how FAR you want to go with your GOAL. Is it a little bit closer than your neighbor living next to you or further than the Milky Way? You decide.

Hope you got some VALUE out of this blog!

Next time we will look at how you can find your LIFE PURPOSE! WOW! Only here with @wild-forest. Stay tuned! :)
