Brick By Brick to reach your goal

We all have different goals in life whether is to build a house, travel the world, find a beloved spouse, lose 20 kilos of weight, get that 10 000 dollars salary, buy a yellow Lamborghini, get that shiny Louis Vuitton handbag, start your own dream business, reach financial independence, recover from that serious injury or disease, or find internal peace. Just to name a few.

Setting goals is very important in life but how to actually achieve them? I’ve personally experienced various methods while reaching my goals and one of them worked greatly beyond others so I’ve decided to share it with you today to help you reach yours SUCCESSFULLY! (*feeling excited*). I’ve named it Brick By Brick (BBB) Method.

Imagine a wall made of bricks standing next to you as your accomplished goal. What did it take to build that wall (reach your goal)? Put it Brick By Brick, right? (Here I don’t consider time and effort used in putting bricks, which is obvious).

Regarding wall analogy, we usually tend to picture the whole wall (final goal) but not how it is actually being built (putting brick by brick). So in most cases we live in far illusion forgetting about the realistic NOW. And realistic now sooner or later brings us to the far illusion which becomes the realistic now. Whaaat? It’s like let’s say you live in Europe wishing to appear in one of Las Vegas casinos and start playing Black Jack at table #23 (your goal – an illusion), of course it is possible in your mind but realistically (focusing on now) in order to get there for real you will have to probably get a visa, buy a plane ticket, then take that plane and fly there, then probably take a taxi or public transport etc. in order to appear there for REAL and play Black Jack.

Or another example, let’s say you start to play a game which requires you to reach certain attack, defense and strength levels in order to start fighting those blue gnomes which give huge rewards. And you want those levels (your goal – an illusion) which is fine but again, realistically (focusing on now) you will have to train in order to finally one day fight blue gnomes. You get the idea.

Now coming back to wall analogy, often times what happens is that we give up building it (reaching that goal) as it seems sooo far away. The thing is that we forget to focus on putting each brick. Appreciating/measuring each brick. And do it consistently. Brick By Brick and you build your wall – your goal, right? This is the KEY I personally found in reaching my goals and I believe it can help reaching YOURS.

Examples of using Brick By Brick


Let’s take an example on how to use Brick By Brick method. So let’s say you want to lose 20 kilos of weight in 6 months which is your wall (final goal) right? Now how much do you have to lose per week? (Figuring out your each brick). 6 months = ~24 weeks, 1 week = 0.833 kg of weight loss (20 kg / 24 weeks). In this example your brick is worth 0.833 kg of weight loss and you build your wall by putting one brick weekly. You can even make it daily if you wish, it is up to you to decide.

Let’s take another example with finances. So your goal (wall) is to let’s say reach 10 000 USD salary per month. How much you will have to earn per 1 hour to build up your wall? (Figuring out your each brick). To calculate let’s say you work 20 days per month and 8 hours per day. How many hours in total per month? 20*8=160 hours. So in this case you will have to earn 62.5 USD/hour (10 000 USD / 160) (your single brick) to build up your wall – your goal. You can split that even to minutes or seconds if you wish to. It’s totally up to you to decide the measure of your brick.
