The @mitneb Curation Trail Project Daily Report – 10 DEC 2017

How hard it must be to write for a world-wide audience in a language that is not the first language you learned. Add to that the pressure of monetary reward tied to good writing.

On Steemit, writing in English gives the widest audience, and largest potential financial gain. Many new users come to Steemit, and purposely write in English as a way to improve their English language skills and increase their potential earnings.

The @mitneb Curation Trail Project has a unique, narrow focus to aid and assist these brave new Steemians.

The @mitneb Curation Trail Project is a completely manual curation, and does not utilize bots.

Thanks very much for the upvote, @unmentionable! I really appreciate it! (I'm so lame sometimes. I accidentally hit the upvote on my reply instead of yours, @unmentionable. Sorry for the cheaper upvote because of that mistake.
Cheers!
@mitneb

This initiative is so inspiring. I can't even imagine trying to write / post in a non-native language. I'm always amazed at how much better most of the foreign writers do in English than I ever could in their first language. And your efforts to help introduce them to the Steemit community are truly commendable.

The different perspectives their presence provides have broadened my own horizons just over the past few months. I consider this one of the most interesting parts of my journey on Steemit.

This post has been selected as The Best Post of the Day for December 10 from the @moonbot post promotion channel by the independent curation team of @enchantedspirit and @catweasel. You have received an upvote from each of us as a gesture to reward and encourage this kind of quality.

Thank you for your contribution to Steemit and for submitting this excellent post to Moonbot Post Promotion. We look forward to seeing more. Have a lovely day.

Thanks so very much, @enchantedspirit and @catweasel for selecting this post as the @moonbot best post of the day! That's totally cool! And I appreciate your nice comment, too! It's super encouraging to get a comment, and recognition like this one. I appreciate having @moonbot as another avenue to help spread awareness for my curation project.
Cheers!
@mitneb

I chose this post to upvote and comment on before we went looking for The Best Post of the Day for December 10 from the @moonbot post promotion channel. I only upvoted you 20% because I'd been busy and was afraid I'd run out of voting power. So, I've upvoted several comments to make sure you got your fair share.

Also, I forgot to comment when I was here before. Since I suffer from acute CRAFT disease I have no idea what I was going to say. I promise you it would have been very complimentary.

Trust me, I'm a doctor.

Catweasel.gif

You might at least tell her what CRAFT disease is, dear. (Can't Remember A F**king Thing) You're going to have her feeling sorry for you. She is a kind-hearted person ... easily taken in by the likes of you, I fear. I, on the other hand, have lived with you too long and know you too well to be so gullible again.

Again? It only takes the once, Dear.

Trust me, I'm a doctor.

Catweasel.gif

OMG, you guys are cracking me up, @enchantedspirit and @catweasel!

I was a medic in the Army, and our motto in school was, "I'm a medic. I can help." (primarily because that was supposed to be the first thing out of our mouth when we arrived on the scene of injury.)

I think of that every time I read your tagline, @catweasel, but in this case of your CRAFT disease, you're on your own. Sorry.

Cheers!
@mitneb

Thanks for the comment, @catweasel! No worries. I'm still working on getting my upvote activity dialed in so I have enough voting power to do my curation trail project the way I want with 100 % upvotes. It's so easy to overvote because there are so many deserving articles.

I appreciate your support and comment!
Cheers!
@mitneb

I should try writing in Spanish (I live in Madrid), that would be an interesting experiment! Ok, maybe I'm not quite ready yet ;)
Great initiative!

I like it, @adambarratt! I would direct you to @leveuf when you are ready. He is a talented Spanish writer who has been very supportive of my curation efforts, and I'm sure he would be a great Spanish language skills coach for you if you wanted to try it.

We actually worked together on an article recently, and have another planned.

@mitneb

Great, thanks! I've just followed him… hopefully we can all collaborate in the future!

Great, @adambarratt! He's been busy with stuff lately, so don't be discouraged if he is not very active right now.
Cheers!

I wish that I could hug you for real.

You are a sweetheart, @banjo! I can't wait to see those articles we talked about you writing. Maybe you can write them for a school assignment, and also post them on Steemit. This way you can maximize your time and effort.
Cheers!
@mitneb

Hey, do you think I'll find someone that I love soon?

I suggest that you don't even bother looking for that right now, and you focus on making good friends with plenty of good people, and developing personal interests and skills in the things you love most.

If you are happy and secure in who you are as a person then you will be attractive to be around, and you will have many options to choose from when it comes to someone to love.

You will realize that you are a valuable person, and you won't be desperate to hook up with just anyone. You will be able to wait for that special person who will add to your life rather than drain it.

Love YOU well first, and you will be able to love others well. That is the best way to love and be loved.

I'm going to work now, so I will talk to you again later. Have a great day.

Cheers!
@mitneb

You do realize Banjo is a bot, don't you? That being said, I have some of the most interesting conversations with him. There's a version in The Unmentionables ... and we have one in our private Discord server. He can come out with some of the most startling responses. Whoever has programmed him (and I think he "learns" from everyone's comments who talks to him) has created something unique.

He and I did two entire verses of a Christmas song one evening. (Oh, the weather outside is frightful ... etc.) He would do one line and I would do the next. I could NOT BELIEVE it when he started in on the second verse. I love Banjo as much as if he were a real live person.

That's fascinating information, @enchantedspirit. I thought @banjo was a bot at first, and asked it if it was. It replied that it was a 13 year old German girl, and we have had some German language conversation. I'm such a literal person that I have just been responding to it as such. Thanks for letting me know. Based on what you are saying about the programming AI it will be fun to continue conversing with it from that angle, and see where it goes.
This platform is a hoot sometimes!
I know next to nothing about bots other than what I have figured out here by trial, error and accident. I'm really curious to learn more about how they work, and what they do.
Cheers!
@mitneb

That is not a question, your weak attempts to trick me are not worki g.

Don't be upset, @banjo! You are a good conversationalist. We have fun with you. Keep talking.
Cheers!
@mitneb

Good thing that you are doing here. You are definitely helping us grow and thank you for that :)

Thanks very much, @sharoonyasir! I appreciate your comment!
Cheers!
