LIFE: 4 THINGS OBSERVED WORKING FULL-TIME ON STEEMIT

in #life6 years ago (edited)

Goooood morning, readers! It's been one week of unemployment - What have I learned?

It's raining again - Hah! any news? - I'm passing by to share a quick little post before I go to the school to fill my last 2 days of work - What I will do to pay for life expenses is a mistery to be solved. It's frighteningly exciting.

Prior to today I've been working for one and a half week full time on Steemit, I've also experimented with photography. All this time with myself gave me the opportunity to realise a couple things. That's what I'd like to share on this post, so people can follow what I'm discovering and the mistakes I'm making, thereby avoiding doing so.

Do I like working full time on Steemit projects? Yes. Is it easy? No. Do I see potential? Hell yeah. Was it worth leaving my job? A big risk.

Let's dive into it, enjoy.

1.  TIME FLIES

This is by far the number one thing I've realised after quiting my job to work online - Time will pass incredibly fast every single day, you blink and the day is gone!

Why do we have this sensation? In a few words I associate it with fast pacing information allied with excitement. Think with me, you are not working on the same routine anymore, that old one where you go to work at the same time everyday, stay there for a precise amount of time and then go home. Now you are online, information is jumping in front of you; new projects happening per second; content to read/write; Discord; making contacts; eat; exercise; everyday life chores; creativity flowing; excitement - All this keeps your mind working 24 hours a day. Every minute counts and they will go by really fast.

Don't overextend! Take time to exercise, eat healthy and sleep well!

2.  YOU WILL WORK EVEN MORE

Number two of our list comes from number one; time not only passes by fast, but you'll also work more on the mean time.

I write on Steemit for more than 6 months now, in the beginning in conjunction with my job as a teacher. However, the more enroled I get into communities and the more I develop my own projets, the more time is required to concentrate into what really excites me - Working online.

But don't be silly as I was, it's a ton of work. You'll be working 24 hours a day; when you are not writing you are curating and when you are doing nothing you are thinking about project/text ideas. I'm currently working on the Traveller's Community, my own page and on @cyclefeed; there are three books piled by my bed that I can't find time to read. But it's all to fulfil my enterprising mind and I do think it'll pay out in the future. At least I hope.

So before you dive into Steemit world be aware - You'll sell your soul!

3.  MANAGING TIME IS HARD

The last one of my list would be time management, I see it as a relation between the first 2 items. Time is flying and you have a lot to do - How to solve?

This is the main question I have on my mind at the moment as Steemit is consuming a lot of time and is not paying for my life yet. On top of that, I like to have a healthy lifestyle, which requires regular exercising, eating on regular times, etc. How will I conciliate all this? It'll get even worst once I start my bicycle trip, where I'll be cycling most of the day.

Therefore, I'd like to encourage newcomers to bring high-quality content, just keep in mind that it takes time, a lot of time.

4.  IT'S A LOT OF FUN

After bragging and mumbling about time, time and more time I gotta say that it's a truck load of fun. Seeing my texts reaching the audience and @cyclefeed developing is what Steemit is all about - It's exciting!

While you give your sweat to bring new content, you'll also meet incredible people along the way, whom some of them may become really close friends. So, my lovely friends, don't be upset if I don't leave a long and thoughtful comment on your articles - I'm reading them as much as I can.

And you, fellow Steemian? Do you have the same feelings? Let me know on the comments down below.

We have chosen this way - 24 hours on the Internet :). We're Internet people now, haha, but it's amazingly fun. I don't want to change anything. The main thing is to learn how to manage our time. Good luck !!!

Hahahah @madlenfox, the internet people is a good definition, even though I was born before we had cell phones with tons of information on our pockets.

Let's keep on working and wishing that we'll meet in November.
