Welcome my Steemit friends. Today, I will tell you about something that actually happened and there were witnesses.

It was one of several times a poltergeist attacked. I do not have actual pictures of it because I ran for my life like a wuss. I was scared shitless. Here is what happened.

When I first came here, it was windy. So, since I know a tremendous amount of engineering and mechanics, I decided to build windmills. Somewhere along the line, I came up with a vertical windmill that was a little more than twenty feet tall with two blades. The blades were steel, which I found out was bad, very bad.

Each blade was ten feet long and because I had the thing powering a car alternator which was straight DC, I had the windmill hooked up to a 32:1 geared transmission. When the blades spun once, the alternator spun thirty-two times. Car alternators, or in this case a generator spin at high rpm’s in case you do not know. Oh yes, I remember now, this was the diesel truck model and it was 2 kilowatts with a 6 horsepower requirement.

Back in those days, we did not have solar panels. Wind was it. I had three windmills running.

It was Sunday morning at about 10 am and we decided to watch church on television. Then the batteries were dead because the wind was calm. At about eleven am, the wind started to rise but the windmill was facing the wrong direction.

This particular model, one of thirty-two did not have a tail and automatically turn into the wind. Instead, I had a bar about ten feet long attached to the vertical support shaft. That way, I could turn it into the wind or turn it out of the wind to slow it down if it went to fast.

There was a spike on the end of the turning bar about two feet long that I would push down into the dirt to keep the windmill facing steady into the wind.

So, the wind starts to pick up, the batteries are dead, and I decided to go outside and turn the windmill into the wind. My wife did the dishes and was standing at the window over the sink. The window was open so she could see and hear what went on.

I started to walk up to the windmill direction control bar and picked it up. I heard this voice say,

"It is the Sabbath. You shall rest and not do anything today."

"Look," I said. The ghost had spoken a few times before and I largely ignored it. But I said, "The batteries are dead. The wind is just right. And, I'm certain that there is no offense as we are resting and just watched church." I reached a picked up the bar. The wind was probably 12 to 15 knots.

I picked up the bar and started to move the windmill into position. The two opposed blades began to turn at maybe twenty rpm’s and so the generator turn at 640 rpm’s. It wasn't much but it was enough for about 10 amps at 12 volts or so.

I heard the alternator reach speed and "Lock" so it was outputting electricity.

"Perfect," I said to myself. I stuck the spike in the ground at least a foot. Maybe it was more. I jumped on the bar to assure the spike would drive deep and hold the thing in place to face the wind.

It was just wonderful to watch the thing spin, near silent, the gears well greased but the alternator making a nice loaded whir. I went over to the battery box to measure if there was any output. It was 13.6 volts at nine amps or I x V = 122.4 watts. In a few hours, we would be able to run the refrigerator. I stood up from the battery box faced the windmill to walk around the battery box and I heard this voice say,

"I ordered you not to do that. Thou shall keep the Sabbath Day Holy!"

"Oh come on. We need the electricity, the batteries are dead. All I did was move it into the wind."

"I will punish thee. Thou hast not kept the Sabbath Day Holy!"

Now, because of vibration, or the potential of vibration I had used locking aircraft bolts to build my windmill. These bolts have an insert that makes the nut very difficult to tighten and loosen. In addition I used lock washers.

"I am sorry; will you forgive me in my attempt to survive?"

"No!" It roared.

I had moved back to the battery box as the wind had increased. The blades were probably near a hundred rpm and the alternator put out 32 amps at 14.2 volts. This was 354.4 watts, which was much better. Like a fool, I cheered that the windmill was putting out this much. And a fool I was too.

I do not remember if I actually felt the wind increase in velocity and it probably did not. It has been nine years at least since this incident but what happened next was the invisible entity said,

"Thou art a sinner! Thou shall be punished!" It spoke loudly too.

The next thing that happened was the windmill blades began to spin faster. I measured the output and the alternator put out 15.6 volts at 63 amps. And then the windmill turned even faster. I estimated that it turned at around 200 rpm or 6,400 rpm for the alternator to hit the max of 63 amps or about 1,000 watts.

But, unfortunately, it was not done increasing the speed yet. What a shame. So, I ran over to the directional control bar and tried to pull the spike out of the dirt while the windmill spun faster and faster.

I am strong and I was a lot stronger back then. Even though the spike was a "V" that went from four inches to a point over two feet. I could not pull the damn thing out of the ground. I ran to grab a board to use as a lever over a log under the bar.

The windmill spun faster. I got my lever in place, a two by four about eight feet. I could not lever up the spike. The windmill blades spun so fast that they became invisible. I estimated around two thousand rpm’s.

Suddenly, I began to hear a rattle while I tried to lever the spike out of the ground and looked up. The aircraft nuts on the aircraft bolts were unscrewing. Slowly at first and then they picked up speed. I weighed about three hundred pounds and there was seven feet of lever so there was a ton of force on the lever. The new two by four snapped. The nuts were almost at the ends of the bolts. Instead of standing there watching it, I screamed,

"RUN!" So I would run instead of stand there like a hypnotized idiot. Run I did and fast to into the house and watched the windmill out of the window next to my wife and there was a loud rip.

One blade tore off and flew off into the air somewhere. Then the transmission snapped in half and gears and pulleys went flying. And the blade that was left crumpled and wrapped itself around the vertical shaft with the loudest banging crunch!

All was at a dead stop. Everything ruined.

"Do you think we should start the truck to charge the batteries?" My wife asked.

I finally think I got rid of this thing but that is another story and ten years later after this happened.

There are a lot of rather evil persons buried in unhallowed graves throughout the old west. A lot of the time, if they were hung, they were left to rot hanging from a tree as a warning to other would be evil fiends. Oddly, there are tall trees just to the northwest of here and nowhere else. This is at Antelope Springs, one of the many throughout the west. Sometimes I have wondered if that is the place where the, now hopefully at rest being is from.

Thanks my dear friend @mars9

one thing I learned, Jeff, is never to converse with demons - you were trying to watch church on TV - it wanted you to stop - you had the authority there - you should have told it to shut up and command it to leave. Scary stuff - but before running, I would have exercised my authority as a believer :)

This is by far not the worst demon I have faced, believe it or not. And because I shall be chastised roundly if I tell you just how much authority I really have, since no one will believe it, the reason why I conversed with it is because: at the time I made the mistake of thinking it was God.

Most people have not had the experience of meeting God and I am laughing about this as I write it because, it is funny in hindsight.

But, since he did introduce himself to me, this was, as it turned out, a test to get to know if I knew God well enough to determine whether or not this was a demon. I did not.

Without telling you how I diminished, removed, and sent the being away, revealing the end of the story, let just say that one day I said to God, I can't tell if it is you or not.

Most people will not appreciate this and I have met them but it is nevertheless the truth and the end result was that God, said, (paraphrasing) "Well, that was just what I was hoping you would say to me and so I will help you to know whether it is me or not."

Again, in hindsight, this is funny. The series of events were rather daunting that followed.

discerning of spirits is a gift but there are some manifestations that can let you know clearly who you're dealing with

Excellent post dear friend @ jeff-kubitz these is amazing, thank you very much for sharing
you have a good night

Thanks my dear friend @jlufer for your compliments on my story and have a good night

You know it was a demon because the sabbath is on Saturday, not Sunday! =P

That is what I think, but to each his own. =)

Hmm........... I'd be thinking this demon is pretty good at turning the windmill, how can I get him to do it and keep doing it? hehehe

(and yes I would probably do that while making the road runner look like a snail with crippled feet!)

Yeah, thanks @trevor.george it is the side effects that stopped me from that but we are getting ahead in the story
