I LIKE TO WATCH #4 - NOVEMBER 13: ATTACK ON PARIS (13. November: Angriff auf Paris)

in #life6 years ago

On Friday the thirteenth, Paris turned into a war zone. What began as a friendly soccer match between France and Germany, ended on a night filled with sorrow as terrorists took to the streets. In this amazing documentary: NOVEMBER 13: ATTACK ON PARIS time seems to slow to a crawl as events unfold minute by minute from the Stade de France to the Bataclan Theatre. Using archival footage, this three-part series shows the reactions from President Francois Hollande to the average person on the street, that something is very, very wrong.

What really stood out was the gripping tales of the survivors, along with the brave first-responders who helped save many lives. I did not realize the sheer scale of the attacks as they snake their way across the city. If you were there at the time, you would be excused for thinking Paris had actually been invaded.

"No one can steal your soul."

We hear the gripping accounts of Gregory, a husband and the proud owner of La Belle Equipe cafe, who had to deal with personal loss that night. Jimmy, one of the tireless firefighters on duty, takes us along with video filmed as they respond to the growing horror. Marie and Arnaud come face to face with the terrorists themselves, and yet another Gregory at the theatre, finds a courage that sustains him until the end. While David from Chile, failing to heed his father’s warnings heads off into the night to meet his fate at The Bataclan...

Every decision made that evening was critical in deciding if one lived or died. It warmed my heart when someone made a bold move which saved them. What really stuck with me was the survivor’s refusal to give up in the fight to live.

Listed on Netflix under the original title: 13. November: Angriff auf Paris, this incredible series is a must-see. Since French is the most beautiful language in the world, I had no problem watching this with English subtitles. The filmmakers also provide us with a visual layout of The Bataclan, showing where the people were inside and the means of escape. Witness the moment the attacks begin through video taken that night as The Eagles of Death Metal take to the stage. Do yourself a favor and watch this. We all need to look out for each other in this life, and on November 13th, 2015 - we did. Peace.

evernoticethat, It's sad we living in the world that doesn't respect human life thank you for bringing the Paris attacks to our attention. I know it's crazy but I pray one day we can all live together in peace please continue on bringing us excellent content. Thank you evernoticethat.

You know what's funny? I have every confidence that we will. We have to. The more we're exposed to other peoples and cultures, the less strange they appear to be.

Thanks. I wish I could post more often, but as a student, my time for writing is limited. You're doing a fine job with your videos. Whatever mic you're using in the office, works. I just bought the ATR 2100 USB mic for podcasting. If I ever find time, I might actually get to use it! :)
