On Sunday I Asked If You Wanted To Help And Donate To Free A Man From His Pain And Help A Love Story End Without Pain.

You Answered...

Yes Indeed, You Answered In A Way That Blew All Involved Away!

Here is the post if you haven't read it click here

For an idea of what they are going through, here is @lynncoyle1's last post click here

The Overwhelming Response

I asked for @briancourteau to get donations so he could buy his cancer meds to help with his seizures as he battled his cancer. He had an immediate need for $150. I "backstopped it", basically ensuring he would get the money, but what happened was a truly amazing response from our community.

The money and upvotes came pouring in. The steemit community rallied to both Brian and @lynncoyle1's aid. Not only did we get him the $150 that night, we have now sent him $500 and over 90+ sbds. And that is just on steemit. There were many many donations directly through his paypal account (fortealley@gmail.com). On top of that, the post has reached over $130 and the money from that post will also go to Brian.

The Overall Numbers That Brian Has Recieved

Here are the actual numbers (please feel free to look through my wallet and double check for any mistakes)

Total donations to paypal by me (my gift) - US$150
Total donations to paypal by @pennsif from converted donations - US$359.90
Total Steem sent to @briancourteau - $0.283
Total SBDs sent to @briancourteau - $91.997

Note: money sent direct to Brian is not included here. This is just what touched my account for transparency.

This is a list from Lynn as to the direct contributors too: Paypal @digitalmind, @sicbar, @delusionalmadman, @grace44, @robertandrew, @apolymask, @grace44, @countrygirl,@johnjgeddes, @spiritualmatters, @stevenwood, @simplymike, @sparkesy43, @wizardave, @traciyork, @robertandrew, @thedarkhorse, @deliberator and GoFundMe: LeNetta Huntoon

Thank You

I want to make a special thanks to @pennsif and @darkhorse for converting the sbds and steem into US$ for Brian. They are not taking a profit or a cut in any way, and in fact are buying the currencies for their own accounts. It is not only a helpful thing to do, it really gives Brian access to the money quickly. So thank you very much!

I also want to thank the hundreds of voters on the post for their contributions too (249 at last count). Whether large (over $1 upvotes) from @postpromoter @canadian-coconut @yabapmatt @ethandsmith @bycoleman @eturnerx or small (from the littlest of minnows), these votes not only provide real money to help Brian with his medicines, they also send a message that you care! It is beautiful and I am very proud to say I am a part of this wonderful community!

Finally, there has been so much activity that I'm sure I'm missing things. I want to get the post out with the facts so that people can check and verify my wallet. It is a large sum of money and I want to respect the trust given to me to pass these funds along.

I do know however that there are other things people are also doing for Brian and Lynn, I know @charisma777 has a post also requesting help, @moderndragon made a post to explain how her followers can help click here, and @binkley from SteemThat is working with @simplymike to also get this situation more visibility. Also @backpackingmonk did a radio show with @kubbyelizabeth to highlight the story, @lost108 donated whaleshares from his lottery, and @bashadow has delegated Brian SP so he can cash in his own and not lose the ability to post.

I am so happy with all the affection that this community has shown to Brian and Lynn. I know I've barely scratched the surface if you include all the words of love and compassion, the 63 resteems, and offers to help that I haven't even mentioned. Thank you all. I know that Brian and Lynn are also blown away.

I will continue to forward any funds that I receive, including this post too. I just wanted to give everyone a quick accounting since the post and the donations have exceeded an astounding sum that has now surpassed US$1000 in total!

@davemccoy, you have made me cry...again!! Brian and I are so overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, support, prayers, positive vibes..all of it...I really am at a loss for words.

We are also planning on writing a thank you post, but here and now, we have to say THANK YOU to everyone who has touched our hearts in some way. Never in a million years would I have expected all of this; we are still both shaking our heads in amazement, in between smiling and crying tears of gratitude!

We also need to include a few names here who weren't directly connected to Dave, but saw all of our posts and felt the need to do something.

  • @edprivat was so moved that he dedicated this song to Brian and I. His singing and guitar playing is beautiful.
  • @johndoer123 wrote a post for his contest results, but included a lovely prelude explaining our story
  • @saffisara included a really sweet shoutout to us in her 'weekend wrapup' post
  • and of course @charisma777's post and @moderndragon's post that Dave also refers to. Both so very thoughtful!
  • and today I noticed a post by @ura-soul about creating a Steem Charity where @wizardave and @themanwithnoname were mentioning Brian and I, and what Dave was doing here as well.

We also have to give a very special thank you to @davemccoy! This was something so thoughtful and so selfless, and like I've told you before Dave, this community would be a lot less bright without you in it.

If I missed anyone, please let me know !

Again, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you!! This is something that we will remember forever ! :)

·

I am very happy that both of you can witness the respect and admiration that we have for you. Your story together is sad, but also uplifting at the same time. I have known from the minute I heard what you have done for each other, that you were the special and unique. I am so grateful to know you both and I'm happy that we could brighten your day! :)

·

Thanks so much @lynncoyle1 for the shout out once again, it just shows what type of individual you are, so humble and loving!
You and @briancourteau deserve the world, and we are all behind you , the positive attitude of this community once again makes me proud to be a part of Steemit, the sky is the limit!

Thank you so much @davemccoy for not only helping, and taking on a huge responsibility, but really becoming the voice and the heart of us all, and showing transparency by doing so, I would have been overwhelmed with the task, so bravo to you sir, and thank you!

·
·

Thank you for the kind words @edprivat! I completely agree with you about @lynncoyle1 and @briancourteau deserving the world. I'm very happy to see all the wonderful responses and I believe completely with you about how the positive attitudes make shine a great light on the community! Have a wonderful day and thank you for helping these 2 great people! :)

·
·
·

Pleasure friend! See ya around buddy !

More then happy to help out. @lynncoyle1 and @briancourteau are great people and well deserving of all the support the community has given. Glad you did a second post we can all upvote and give more with our voting power.

·

You make me smile @thedarkhorse! Thank you again..from both of us :)

·

Thank you so much again for what you are doing. And I agree completely that Brian and Lynn are special and deserve all the support we can give them! :)

It gives me hope that Steemit is a place full of good people. That's one big list of good Steemians who wanted to help, thank you all for sending some of your funds to one of your fellas who needs the help. I wish I could do more. For Brian - please don't give up, magic happens all the time, just never give up, wish you all the best to you and your family, wishing you a speedy recovery. Thank you for being Steemian in those hard days. Regards.

·

What you did was fantastic @lost108! I have much respect for you caring about Brian and Lynn! And yes it gives me hope too! I love to see people come together and support each other like this... Have a wonderful weekend :)

This is a great thing you've organized and that many have rallied around in one way or another. This is why I said what I said about your league ranking. This is much more important. :)

·

Thank you Glen! That is nice to say and yes this is real life and very important indeed. The thing I think is most important is that we all get a chance to really show how much we admire and respect them. I'm very happy that we have accomplished that as a community and were able to help Brian with his struggles in his time of need.

I'm glad to see the kindness and attention from many, and it gives me renewed energy for our future here! You said something about "holding the line" and sticking together a few weeks ago. I think this is one of those things that will make that an easier task going forward! Always happy to interact with you my friend!

·

Thank you Glen, that is very kind of you to say. Dave really is a rallier :)

I was more than happy to help an awesome couple. they are both great people.

·

Aww thank you @bashadow, we both really appreciate that ;)

Don't sell yourself short @davemccoy. You have rallied to the troops and provided an avenue for people to help in any little way we can.

·

Our thoughts exactly! Dave really is the rallier!

Where's your playing card Dave...this is a great place to show it off :)

Thank you so much @sparkesy43, from Brian and I , we really appreciate it !

·

Thank you @sparkesy43... It is nice of you to say, but honestly the outpouring is all due to the amazing people that both Brian and Lynn are and what they mean to others. I'm happy that I could've been the one to focus people's attention on it, but its the troops like you that were ready to show your respect all along! Thank you for what you did, you were one of the first to jump on it and help! :)

I was the go fund me...I wanted to make sure they had direct access to the money and it not get tied up in Steem. Even though the thread is aging anytime there is money put in it still should be available for them.

·

Thank you @tryskele!!! Brian and I both appreciated that very much! Isn't it funny here? Who the heck is Lenetta Huntoon :)

·
·

LOL Now I have a real name.

·

That is awesome @tryskele! Thank you for being so thoughtful... I know that you made both Lynn and Brian happy... I was talking with Lynn on discord when that came in and she was very excited to see it! :)

·
·

That makes my day :) ..I keep missing her on discord...stupid work hours. I just wish I had more to give. My hubby asked me what it was when he looked at my bank account . I just said I'm being me and helping where I can.

·
·
·

:) ... Well you should be happy with you being you, you put a smile on her face! Very good @tryskele! :D

Glad to see there was such an outpouring of support! :) That's heart warming and encouraging to see in this world that is often so very apathetic.

·

I agree with you completely @apolymask! I have been truly overwhelmed with admiration for the people that we come in contact with that is part of our community! It was not something that I was expecting to see, not at this level. I am encouraged indeed! :)

And thank you so much for your support and attention! It means a lot to me and I know also to many others!

When the community comes together and makes a difference! <3

·

This is a perfect example... I am so excited to see the outpouring of attention to this beautiful couple and what they are going through... The community did indeed come together and thank you very much @kubbyelizabeth for your help in spreading the word with @backpackingmonk! :)

my pleasure to help out @lynncoyle1 and @briancourteau in a small way. I could feel such a pain as I was in the same shoe.
God please both of them

·

Brian and I both want to thank you @digitalmind; you are such a kind and caring man...we will never forget this ;)

·
·

My pleasure. I do hope to see you around in Steemit and perhaps one day somewhere in certain part of the world.
take care and god bless you

Love all this #goodnews. So nice of you to put this all together Dave. Thank-you 🙌😙
#warmfuzzies

·

He really is an awesome guy, isn't he! Thank you so much @yogajill, Brian and I appreciate it very much...more than words can say ;)

·
·

You're welcome ❤ nice to do what i can for two dear friends. I hope your financial troubles are eased for now. Goodness knows, you both have enough on your plate as it is 🌸🌺🌸

·
·
·

Yes it is "eased" for sure! You're right, there's so much going on that I hate to have to waste energy on the financial side of things. Thanks again :)

·
·
·
·

You're welcome my friend 🌸❤🌸
Peace & Joy to you. And, hugs!!!

·

Me too Jill! I think its awesome to see 2 awesome people (in need) be helped by many other awesome people that can afford to help in their own ways! I'm so glad you joining in :D 🎉

·
·

Kudos Dave and to everyone who embraced your call for help❤ for your consistant effort to step in, to give a leg up. It's a very beautiful community that is growing here. Glad to be part of it. 🙌🤹‍♀️

So glad to see the overwhelming support for these two amazing people. I'm thankful for everyone who contributed to help them. Thank you for spearheading this, Dave. You have a lot of respect throughout the community and your influence has contributed greatly. Thank you for your continued support of those in need.

·

I am very happy to see the support too @themanwithnoname! It has made me realize that we have accomplished something together, we have bonded in a way that I never would've expected. I think we can call ourselves a true community, and even though we don't all hang out together, I believe that many share a trait of compassion that shows us we have something in common!

I'm appreciative that I could help in bringing this issue to the people's attention, but its the 2 amazing people that have won peoples hearts and love! Thank you for your kindness, and happy we could experience this moment in time together!

·
·

Yeah, I think once you've raised over $1,000 for a joint goal that we can call ourselves a community. We don't all have the same interests or talents, but we all can connect with wanting to help two people in need. I'm glad to be a part of it!

·
·
·

Agreed! me too Blondie!

·
·
·

Agreed! me too Blondie!

I trust you 100% dear friend.
The transparency is valued though. Thank you for doing so much good for these people. And for letting so many people know so that others could help. I believe that deep inside of us all there is a want to help each other. I believe that a lot of factors prevent that. World the government, leaders, religion, so on and so on. But the bottom line is when somebody see somebody who needs help we don't think about any of those things, we just want to help. I hope you have a wonderful day. And thank you for being a continue inspiration.

·

I also believe that many of us have deep inside us the goodness that we are witnessing here. I also think you are right about the factors of society that get in the way (decent people can argue as to how much is planned or coincidence). But I agree with you on the bottom line, there are many of us that will help an old person across the street, open a door for someone with no hands free, or even give an animal some food when its hungry. I think that is the nature I see in many human beings, and that is why I love seeing displays like this! Its pure compassion and a wonderful outpouring of goodness.

Have a wonderful day yourself @johndoer123!!! :)

What are community for. We're family here. :)

·

Thank you @neihy05 ...this community really is like a great big wonderful family :)

·

I agree with you completely! :)

It is remarkable how everyone came together when needed, big and small. I was referred to as a beacon of light (alluding to your ABC’s of Curation name post) but you Dave, you’re the dynamic dazzler, always spreading your light to those around you and making their world just a little bit brighter. You’re pretty awesome for all you’re doing for Lynn, Brian, and everyone in our community.

·

you are right. I find this Steemit platform is such a wonderful place full of love and passion wherever you are. No boundary of the country, so many steemian come forward to contribute, big or small. Al these gestures are a sign of kind and loving people around the globe.
To differenciate Steemit with other social platform, members in Steemit have the true bound of relationship.
Cheers for all Steemians

·
·

You are absolutely right @digitalmind!

·

Well said @beeyou! He really is pretty amazing, and watching this community in action has solidified my belief in the goodness of people! Thank you as well for what you've done for Brian and I too, we really appreciate it!

·

Hey @beeyou, I agree completely that its awesome to see how the big and small come together here. I appreciate you saying that I had a part in it, but really it was the awesomeness of Brian and Lynn that really are what made people come together. I'm very happy that their day is a little bit brighter and think "we" all did a great job of making them realize they are special! :D

Happy to see that there's a real community here. I wish the best for Brian and Lynn.

·

Thank you @wanderlass ...you're right! The community here is amazing :) Brian and I both appreciate your kindness!

·
·

I wish I could give more. I hope it all gets better there. Virtual hugs!

·

I agree with you completely @wanderlass! And I'm so happy you are a part of it too!!! I know you would like this post, you are as big hearted as anyone I've ever met! :)

·
·

You have the biggest heart here. Thank you!

YAY!! so happy to see this @davmmcoy :-D I have "lost" (temporarily.. I HOPE) my USB with my active key on it.. I know it's somewhere but with moving I seem to have misplaced all my important items, of course! although I'll be late to the party I will definitely send some sbd over to brain as soon as I can - every little bit helps!

@lynncoyle1 and @briancourteau you are both wonderful and I'm so happy to see the outpouring of help given to you two <3 <3 it is beyond deserved! sending my good vibes until I locate my active key! lol

·

omgosh... I'm sorry to hear that about your active key... please find that so that we don't make you a millionaire one day and you can't spend any of it..lol

write down that posting key though so that you never lose that... At least there are things you can do to to extract some of those big bucks one day!

I'm happy to hear that you have found a place and moving, I was a bit worried about you... I hope you get everything finished so you can come back and spread that amazing wisdom!

Its really cool to see how everyone really showed up and "outpoored" the help to 2 wonderful people! I know you would've wanted to give your respects, so its good to see you posted here! :)

·
·

thanks 💜 I'm so glad I caught this post. they really are an amazing couple. It's so good to see everyone rallying behind them to get Brian what he needs!

I'll find that USB somewhere soon enough. I do have it written in a notepad amongst all my writing too - I have to carve out some time tomorrow to find it.. just been super busy with the 4 year old on top of unpacking/cleaning. 😂😂 thanks for thinking of me! Hope to be back to 100% soon - just gotta get internet hooked up and off my phone lol this typing on a mobile is terrible.

·
·
·

lol on the mobile, that's why I didn't even both to try to put it there... There is no way I am typing one word at a time! ;)

And glad to see your move is almost complete! Congrats!

·

haha @amariespeaks, no worries...we'll take your good vibes any day of the week!! Of course when you move, you can't find anything ;)

Yes, the outpouring has been positively overwhelming!!!

This is great! I knew it would have surpassed expectations. The steemit world really does have great people in it. And I am glad to have met some of them, knowing there are thousands. Good job everyone for coming together in this time of need! Much love and respect to you all!

·

So true @foxyspirit! Brian and I still can't believe it all :)

·

I agree with you @foxyspirit! Come together we did and it was amazing to see the love for these 2 beautiful people! :) Thank you so much for being a part of it and much respect to you too!!!

What an amazing response, and a great job rallying people for the cause Dave.

I echo many of the replies in this post, a fine effort and great example of what this place has the potential to do.

·

It really is amazing, isn't Ash! Brian and I are amazed by it all :)

Hope your few days away were good ones :)

·

Thank you very much Asher! I think the subject is something that is the real reason people rallied... Both Lynn and Brian have captured everyone's hearts and I'm happy that we all got a great chance to show them how we feel! Thank you for your support here.. you helped tremendously with getting the word spread yourself ;)

Dave, you never cease to amaze me with your generosity. So glad to hear the way the community came together.

·

Thank you very much @katrina-ariel! And back at ya! I am very happy to see how the community rallied and is still rallying to support them! I hope you are doing well and you still have that smile on your face so I'm guessing you are ;)

What you do to help others especially during their time of need just shows how big a heart you have. You bless others with your selfishness. Altruism in its truest sense.

·

Thank you for you kind words @leeart! I am honored to hear them coming from you! :)

Thank you so much @cryptkeeper17 for doing this :)

·

This is nothing. You both are great, take care. I am very humbled that you take the time to thank such a small gesture of respect. Take care of yourself as well, and continue your wonderful miracle work for Brian!

·
·
·

Crypt... You are awesome! thanks!

·
·
·

There are no "small gestures" in my eyes @cryptkeeper17. Your compassion and your action, regardless of 'size', shows me what a fine person you are. I am the one who is humbled by the outpouring of love from this community and for @davemccoy setting this ball in action.

Thank you again! I'm hoping my "wonderful miracle work" turns into a real life miracle for Brian :)

This is great news, as a person who has sat on the other side of a table from a doctor to hear the words "You have Cancer" for the first time. I appreciate the emotional turmoil it puts on you, and also your family and friends. Thank You for your actions to help.

·

thank you so much fo your comment and for taking the time to learn about Brian and Lynn's situation! I hope you have a terrific weekend! :)

I think @davemccoy has shown that the power and value of Steemit doesn't just come from the whales and witnesses, and that we all have the ability and influence to make an impact when we are united in the same cause. I hope that this can inspire all those who want to make a difference or change to keep going and connecting with others who also share the same vision for an even brighter future on Steemit!

·

That is very kind @plushzilla, but it wasn't me that showed the power and value, it was all of you! The community rallied around the 2 great people that we have all come to know and love. Brian and Lynn have been in our hearts since the day we first met them and it is their story that captivated everyone all along.

I do 100% believe that the way in which the community responded has show that we do have some amazing and wonderful people willing to help on a moments notice. It was amazing to watch people from many different statuses here, jump up and say "I got this".... It made me happy to see all the outpouring of caring and respect for them.

Thank you for the wonderful words as always @plushzilla and have a terrific weekend :)

·
·

That may be true, but nothing happens on Steemit without people who are willing to be the first to initiate, and without the right person it is hard to the get momentum and response. I know you don't need to receive any credit for it, but we also want to let other people who are willing to step in your shoes or follow in your footsteps to know that their efforts will not go unnoticed or unacknowledged!
