Amazing! I saw a cheetah make a kill.
Hi I'm Danny! I'm travelling around the world! Follow me.
I'm staying in one of the many wildlife conservancies that border the Maasai Mara national reserve in Kenya. For the next couple weeks I'm going to try and post each evening from The Naboisho Conservancy.
CHEETAHS
Out of all the big cats in this conservancy the Cheetahs are the most vulnerable. Lions travel in a pride which offers protection from Hyenas and other animals while they are feeding, but Cheetahs do not.
Cheetahs are smaller and much more fragile. They don't travel in big backs and as a result they have a tougher time.
Cheetahs are the only cat that can't retract their claws, they also can't run long distances, but they have the fastest acceleration and top speed out of any mammal. They are just beautiful animals.
Cheetah Cubs
We were extremely lucky to see a Cheetah make a kill
We saw this Cheetah making a kill on an Impala and bring in her cubs to feed right in front of us. The percentage of kills these big cats make is actually very low and they struggle. This female Cheetah might not make another kill for a week or so.
