How Steemit solve and became a new problem

in #life7 years ago

I do not have Facebook. I do not have Twitter. I do not have Snapchat. Nor any other social platforms.

The only interested platform that caught my attention recently is Medium.com. The posts are of good quality and it is pretty user friendly. It makes you want to read. On those aspect, they succeed but like most of the internet platform these days, they had to come up with a—weird—monetization solution.

Steemit, on the other hand, is not so user friendly and the quality of some posts can be discussed. The concept, however, is better than good. A popular post on medium stated: « why your company do not need a blockchain ». The hype in blockchain is making people do all kind of unnecessary stuff but in the case of Steemit, it filled a gap.

For a long time I wanted to contribute on some sort of platform with an un-identified content. Basically, I wanted to do what 99% of the people are currently doing, usually for a short period since it never takes off due to a lack of clear strategy.

The two main challenges in those fields like blogging, blogging and so on is to:

  • Get an audience
  • Get a reward, even minimal for the work and effort you put

The majority of people would argue that working in order to achieve one of those two goals is failing before starting. I agree. But like in every thing in life, one needs a mesure in order to understand the impact and the contribution that he/she is having.

True, some blogs with great content emerges. Are they all the blogs with good content? I doubt that. Promoting the stuff you are creating is a full time job and Steemit answers this in a way. It can provide a big enough audience that can juge on the quality of your post. They say that the mass is usually right and based on this hypothesis, the most appreciated content will go up.

Abuses emerged though. I currently have 187 followers with only 5 posts. My articles have a total read count of 56  and yet I almost have 200 followers… Something is wrong here.  Moreover, some « clever » people are trying to hack the system by the « follow me and I’ll follow you ». What a f*****g stupid idea. On the long term, those people will fail, but will those abuses take Steemit down with them?

So I am still looking forward to continue posting here since Steemit is the only platform that answers the two main challenges—plus I’m a big blockchain enthusiast. It took all of my excuses out and I am interested to see how the future of this platform is going to be shipped and I am looking forward to be part of it.

It became a new problem though because no excuses are valid anymore. All one needs to do is post a content that is appreciated by the platform and success is most likely going to happen. With an immediate impact. And that, is revolutionary in this field.

Don’t forget to up vote the post if you liked it and follow me if you are interested in my content!
