Baseball Day in my Community is a Yearly Gathering of kids, community, outreach, food and fun. There is a giant blow up Movie Screen in the outfield for the Movie at Dusk!

Vendors and equipment dealers were set up to show off their goods.
There were buses lined up for a Baseball Oshawa Day outing to head to Toronto to watch a Blue Jays MLB game.

Barry w. Legendary sports figure in town- Jim Lutton. We named a field after him a few years ago! He umped many of my games as a youth. He is in the Canadian, Ontario and Oshawa Sports Halls of Fame for 2 sports - Baseball and Basketball. He was a Pro Scout with the Montreal Expos which moved to Washington a few years back. Jim loves ice cream and hamburgers. (:

Bernie McGuire - he was a coach of mine, longstanding baseball man in town! — One of the good guys! What a patient coach he was when I was a kid.

Baseball Royalty right here baby! Look at that smile! 1 of the best to ever play in Oshawa, I loved watching this guy play ball. Tony Quick was one of my favourite players growing up watching baseball in town, and I've told him that. He was a little older than me.
We were in pro training camp one year together, so when you are playing beside a legend, and looked up to him as a kid, that is a special memory for anyone. He is a great human being. I nominated him and lobbied for him to be inducted into the Hall of Fame locally and for Baseball Oshawa awards too. He is so nice.

Looks like a fun night!
I was there taking photos all day helping out on the Executive Committee, making food, chatting away, raking the basepaths, all that stuff.
It was 3 summers ago, it was a long day but amazing, and I love to see kids having fun. laughing, learning lessons.
That field taught me a lot of lessons. And the men who helped me as a youth.
