Lebron James to the Lakers!

Well that did not take long. Most have heard James was likely to go to Los Angeles due to family reasons. His eldest son will begin high school at Southern California High so it seems fitting James takes care of his family first.

The deal is worth 4 years at $154 million. Likely now the highest basketball player paid to date. Salute to his greatness. To be playing at a team of his choosing, and be paid top dollars. While still able to take care of his family by physically being close to them while the children going to school is a big plus. Undoubtedly great decision he has made and well planned execution.

Now on to 2019 where it feels likely that the finals will be a Lakers versus Celtics. I know I maybe going way ahead for we do not how the season will unfold. Hopefully both teams can have all players at full strength and the best rivalry will continue. Would it not be fitting for the best player in the NBA to have another crack at the Boston Celtics but for the title. How exciting.

This is an interesting move. I wonder if his supporting cast is good enough though to get him to where he needs to be. The road to the finals still runs through the Warriors in the west and there are some other teams that are going to beat teams up as well. I do agree, this is good for the Celtics. I think this finally clears a path to the finals for them. The question is, can they get better so as to compete with the west in the finals?

Celtics were expected to be a rebuilding team but this past year they have proven otherwise. If the team holds up well next season I think they have a really good chance of winning it all. Their bench is deep and they have a young core group compared to other top teams.

Now that Lebron is on the west the whole superstars thing seems very lopped sided. Most top super stars are on the west so yeah western conference playoffs may likely be more fun to watch. The rockets and the lakers are contenders to the warriors now. It will be interesting how the rest of this free agency plays out. I agree supporting cast is crucial for Lebron to win another trophy.

Yet he took a ton of money and his son is going to high school for the next four years in the state seems like the real reasons for Lebron to go to Los Angeles. The rest of having another opportunity to win a championship is icing on the cake. I have a feeling he just wants to play this all out to get his children prime to play basketball.

Dang you are right, $160 million for 4 years is insane. Not to say he is bad but I always felt Lebron is better. Guess Lebron undersold himself a bit. lol.
