NBA: LeBron James is free - hunting begins !
$ 36 million is a big amount, but LeBron James knows he can earn more. He did not use the player's option in his contract and on July 1 the third time in his career he will be a free agent.
It just happens that LeBron James enters the market every 4years, exactly during the Football World Cup. It is no different this year - the 33-year-old player told Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday that he will not take the player's option and will become a free agent on Sunday, July 1. This does not mean, that Cavs fans can give up all hopes.
This decision means, for the time being, that James is still not quite sure where to play next season. On the one hand, he may simply continue to be a Cavaliers player and sign a contract for an even larger amount. On the other hand, they are still tempted by the Los Angeles Lakers, who at this moment seem to be the most likely candidate for James.
The team from the City of Angels wants to first bring Kawhi Leonard from San Antonio Spurs, and then use the free space in the capitol to sign a contract with LeBron. Houston Rockets may be dissatisfied with James's decision, because such a turn of events means that the 33-year old's move to Texas is much less likely. Where do you think James will land?
