Standing at the feet of the General Yi Sun Shin statue in Seoul was an awe-inspiring experience. I got to go about 2 years ago when I was in Seoul. I remember as I gazed up at the statue, I couldn't help but feel a sense of respect for this great leader who played a crucial role in defending Korea against Japanese invasion in the late 16th century.
