Such a beautiful but deadly creature, the Leopard. Many more humans are attacked each year as the Leopards habitat dwindles throughout India. But they are also very good at living silently in even the suburbs of the biggest cities.

I took this photo in a Tiger reserve in India, despite many days of getting up at dawn and throwing more money at yet another jeep ride through the wildlife reserves, trying desperately to see a wild Tiger, it just never happened, but this site was reward enough, one of the most awe inspiring sites I have seen in the animal kingdom.

This majestic mating pair of Leopards were basking in the fading afternoon sun on top of some ancient walls, having just come out of their shaded day beds, watching over the forest assessing their options for that evenings hunt.
