Hello, is anyone out there? A new Steemian has landed.

THIS IS MY FIRST POST!

I am an actress, a writer, and a mother of sons.

I have worked professionally in the performing arts for almost 20 years, not counting the couple of commercials I did as a kid for Kool Aid and Cheerios. You might have even seen some of my work on screen, depending on the type of TV shows or films you’re into. I have over 4000 followers on Twitter, who are mostly fans from a specific job I worked on, which isn’t a huge amount when I see the number of followers that some of my peers have (heck you might even have more followers than me!), but it’s a number significant enough to make me believe that I have had a fairly successful career. However, “success” in my industry is a funny thing, because just when you think that you’ve finally got your foot in the door, you suddenly experience a long season of rolling tumbleweed, where literally nobody wants to invite you for an audition and you go back to accepting castings for vacuum cleaners; this was particularly evident after taking time out to have our first child, but I shall save all that for one of my future posts! I've decided to remain anonymous as I’d like to share my unfiltered opinions and experiences, but not jeopardise my already flailing acting career and almost non-existent writing career, not to mention the unwanted impact this might have on my children’s privacy.

I’m new to the Steemit community, and also new to the Bitcoin, crypto, and blockchain world. My knowledge is still quite limited (I actually thought that “Alt coin” was the name of another coin, until I tried to find it!), but I’m slowly learning! Although I’m a latecomer, I think that this is the perfect time to get involved. There was so much euphoria over Bitcoin and cryptocurrency before and during the Christmas period, it was all that everyone talked about and all over the news. I witnessed my own brother buy on a high and advise his friends to jump in with him, and then fall out with the same friends (who took his advice) when the market dipped. A friend of mine also tried to rope me into one of those multi-level marketing pyramid schemes (the best way I can describe it), where I could earn 27 Bitcoin by the end of the year by filling up an imaginary house with tenants and charging them rent. Things were starting to get a bit CRAZY! Now, Bitcoin is still all over the news but in a negative way, bans here, bans there, losing value, social media and other sites banning advertising, etc - which is exactly why I think that this is the perfect time to get involved.

My husband encouraged me to join Steemit as, whilst I am new to the world of Bitcoin/Cryptocurrency/Blockchain, he is not. He isn’t a fellow Steemian because he doesn't enjoy the social aspect of social media, which is an important requirement to join I’d say. I would actually describe him as a “closet crypto”, as he always plays dumb whenever we go out and socialise, never revealing how much he actually knows - I really don’t know what that’s all about! Makes me wonder if there are any other closet cryptos out there! Another potential post brewing there!...

Anyway, after an emotional outburst I had recently because “I don’t wanna go back to my da-haaaay jo-hob!!!” when my maternity leave ends, my husband sat me down and educated me about the many other benefits that this alien world has to it.

It. Blew. My. Mind.

I had no idea that there were so many other ways to get involved and potentially be rewarded whilst doing stuff that you actually enjoy. This is probably because the only thing I’d witnessed him do was buy, invest, sell, re-invest, and so on and so forth. Suddenly, my eyes were opened to a whole new world with limitless potential, and this excites me. As someone who is creatively inclined with an aversion to numbers and charts, it was always going to be a challenge to get me interested in (let alone excited about) cryptocurrency and blockchain, when numbers and charts was all that I had previously related it to. From the moment my husband introduced me to Steemit, I was hooked. I had a browse around the site, read a few posts, and instantly wanted to upvote several posts, so I decided to join the community.

I probably won’t be able to solely rely on this to make a living, but the thought that I will be able to be a part of something exciting, to nurture it, to help it grow, and that *maybe* I could even give up my day job to work from home (the dream!), well, it’d be silly not to give it a shot. This in turn could allow me to focus on my kids, first and foremost, and perhaps resurrect my acting career WHILST getting much enjoyment from contributing to this community, where upvoting can, not only help myself, but others too. It’s really a no brainer.

It’s so nice to see something that’s been created to really benefit its contributors for a change, and I’m looking forward to seeing it grow and evolve. I’m also excited about learning more as I travel further along my journey into this new and exciting world. My spaceship has landed, and I’m hoping that I’ve found a new home. Thanks for having me!

Welcome to steemit!

Greetings, @alonsonanomoreno

Thank you! I appreciate the interest, however, I don’t know how to share a video of my work without losing my anonymity, sorry about that! Hope you understand. I will take the time to check your posts out too :)

I have some Bitcoin. Time to buy more before it rises again someday. Years Long Investment over Day Trading. Thanks for sharing, hehe. I'm Oatmeal Joey Arnold. You can call me Joey.

Hey Joey. Thank you for stopping by! Sounds like you know what you’re doing :) Best of luck!

Thanks for coming here. How are you doing?

This comment by @joeyarnoldvn falsely triggered our spam-detection algorythms. Please put him on a whitelist so he is not further bombarded by bots.

Thanks for the heads up @anotherhero. Bless him, I don’t think he understood why his posts are considered as spam because he sees it as being friendly. I’ve seen that he thought that he was being targeted and victimised even though you clearly explained why he was being flagged and what he needs to do/avoid doing. Great job on trying to help him btw and recognising that he doesn’t mean any harm. Nice to see you still showing him a lot of love..... And d’ya know what? I think it’s worked because I just seen that he’s left some thoughtful comments on your post! #success! Thanks (post upvoted) x

Yeah well he made fools out of me and everyone else who doubted him haha. Now I have to figure out how to remove all these comments...

Haha! Well, from my POV this is a great success story, an example of how we can all help and support each other on here, especially when we get out of line unintentionally! “....and they lived happily ever after.” 😁

@Dramamama, the bots were automatically flagging my comments about one second after posting each comment at those times. It made no difference what I wrote in the comment. For example, in a few hours, some of the bots may return to downvote THIS COMMENT right here for example.

Small comments got flagged.

Big comments Got Flagged Too

I have written over 30K comments/posts on Steemit since I joined in June 2017 to April 2018, to this day so far and been online doing stuff like this since around 1998.

It is tough to follow to see what I do and do not do. I post different kinds of things. Some of my comments are small and some are long. I choose only to write what I want to write. If I want to say you look nice. Then I write you look nice. If you think that is spam that I think you are nice, then flag me. It is a free country or I mean haha blockchain. I use words to help illustrate what happens with Facebook and Twitter and YouTube and others. I am using this to raise awareness of the world we live in right now. Because I am not really worried except that I really do want to help the world each day, each second, and I feel so stuck in a prison at times with stuff I know that can help others. Thanks for posting.

Yep I may downvote you for being a moron if you contiune with your SPAM.

Hi @joeyaroldvn,

So far, I have been enjoying the interaction with other members of this community. I’ve found that we can all learn a lot from each other, as the community is so diverse and filled with so much expertise in different fields. It’s great to feel part of a growing movement 😊

I’ve enjoyed seeing your evolving relationship with @anotherhero. It’s so nice to see members trying to help and support each other.

Wishing you all the best!

@dramamama

@DramaMama, thanks, good. Wishing you the best too. I do like Steemit because of that. @Cernovich talks about that about networking, relationship, as this is like a second family. It is good. And it is good you can talk to @AnotherHero as he is pretty smart and he knows great stuff about history and the world. It is good to have friends. I have been online for over twenty years, about that long, 1998-2018, so far, and I see life is short, and I am just like a chicken with no head. I kind don't like small talk but I also want to engage people too. I want to encourage people to start gardens.

I eat from my own gardens.

I want to encourage people to ask more questions about life. I want to help people love life more and to figure out how to be more independent and free and happy and everything. So, I run around like a crazy Spam Bot because life is short and I felt a bit sad as my friends died, Tiffany Cumbo died and Blake Webb died and my uncle died and my grandpa and life is short, so either you go all out to make people smile and to help or you may just run out of time.

Don't live with too many regrets.

Thank you very much!

Hi. Welcome to steemit. You are very young. Good luck, I hope.

Hello @dramamama and welcome to Steemit! Awesome introduction. Cheerios, Koolaid...but remaining anonymous...Of course, that is your right and choice, but the journalist in me has the urge to investigate LOL. No, seriously: I am very curious now....But respect your choices, understand them too. I'm partly anonymous, only by my user name and first name because my last name is so unique, there's really only one. Your husband being a closet crypto...that's the funniest thing I've heard in a long time. And I don't think I've met any yet. I can't relate, because for me it's hard not to talk about crypto. So much even, that I drive friends crazy with it. If I haven't been among crypto people for a while, it freaks me out and I wonder what I did all those years without it. And when there is a crypto people gathering, I don't stop talking! It's the best jobby I've ever had (yes, I joined that on purpose)! Any way, I am sure you'll have a great time here and I'm looking forward to read your work!

Thank you so much for your lovely comment. So far, I’ve enjoyed the interaction with a few of the contributors here, such as yourself. It really does feel like a diverse community but with that one interest in common that binds everyone together. Thanks again for stopping by! And likewise, I’m looking forward to seeing more of your posts! X

DISREGARD. Keep Steeming

Welcome! I can already tell I'm going to enjoy your writing. I wish you success here! :)

Thank you! ❤️
