Special thanks to @steemseph for this graphic.

The Interactive Battle Tournament (IBT) series, created and hosted by @lordnigel, is currently in its 9th edition. What is unique about this series of contests is that many of the players who participate also contribute to help the contest become better, whether that be by providing content or bots, or otherwise helping the contest run more smoothly. I currently serve as the field judge, assisting @lordnigel with rulings, and assisting players with resolving errors and/or informing them of their available actions.

The IBT Book of Universal Records was originally a joke concept that was conceived between the 2nd and 3rd editions of the IBT. In the 4th IBT, the joke concept turned into a reality. Sometime in the middle of each IBT, a new edition is posted as a chronicle of noteworthy/historic events. The initial content in each new edition is based on the state of the book at the end of the previous IBT.

But just like the IBT itself, the book cannot be made successful (or even accurate) with the work of just one person. This is where other talented Steemians involved with the IBT come in. You can help provide content by commenting on this post -- the best and/or most accurate info will be added into the book and posted in future editions. The possibilities could potentially be endless.

With all that being said, let's get on with the content for the latest edition for the IBT Book of Universal Records. (Content will be periodically updated during the 7-day timeframe after the initial post, as my schedule permits.)

The People's Turn

Obviously, this work is not all my own content -- it is a compilation of content assembled through the contributions of IBT players. As such, you the players should feel free to use the comments to point me towards other content that may be bookworthy. (Comments may also be used to provide suggestions/feedback.) Everyone who authors new material that is officially accepted into the IBT Book of Universal Records deserves to, and will be compensated for said contributions. Everyone whose new contribution(s) are accepted into the book will receive an equal share of the liquid portion (SBD and STEEM) of the post payout (the rewards are set to 50/50). I will distribute the entire liquid portion and keep no share for myself because I get the full SP portion by default. If there is no new material in a given edition of the book, then the liquid portion shall be donated to fund future IBT prize pools.

The initial share pool for this edition is as follows:

  • (none; except for combat MVPs, there were no new updates to the book since the end of IBT #8)

The following people have contributed new content that has been accepted into the IBT Book of Universal Records:

  • (no one yet; will be updated as necessary during the week after posting)

Let's find out together, what this chronicle of the IBT's history will become.

Sort:

I like @doctorcrypto's failed deal with the gobs in this comps gobbo at sea. The tactic seemed sound at the time - I was reminded that gobbo only actually knows the words "stabby-stabby", so when you talk to gobbo, all he actually hears is "stabby-stabby" making it incredibly difficult to ...cut a deal with him :)

I think Gobbos also do know and understand the word "piyo"... it's just that if they do learn it, it's already too late -- their fate has been sealed. The relatively few Gobbos who survive long enough to "tell the tale" to their brethren end up caged and awaiting their deaths -- at least until someone researches something more creative to do with the captive Gobbos.

But to think that there's a species of creature capable of speech yet also more primitive than the dinosaur Yoshis of the Mario universe (of whom most can only say the single word "Yoshi")... scratches head
