Manos a la obra // Night of the Pearl Fishers
A couple of hours ago, while looking through the list of competitions on Steemit that are valid this week I saw the competition [Manos a la obra: rv-obra // Ganadores miercoles 03/20/2024. Tema para el proximo miercoles "Dibujo a grafito"](https://steemit.com/hive-190211/@victornavarro/manos-a-la-obra-rv-obra-ganadores-miercoles-20-03-2024-tema -para-el-proximo-miercoles-dibujo-a-grafito) organized by Dear @victornavarro in the community Reflexiones de Vida and I found it interesting.
I decided to look at the works of the candidates for victory in the drawing competition and to my regret I saw that there were no people willing to draw anything in this competition.
Relatively recently I have already seen competitions that closed due to the lack of excitement on the part of artists and therefore I decided to support this competition in any way I can namely spend a little of my time, some graphite a sheet of paper and draw something.
Probably the hardest thing is getting the idea into your brain lol.
But I decided to try to draw pearl divers. who return home late in the evening after a long search for shellfish on the ocean floor between the valves of which precious pearls were hidden.
I called this drawing "Night of the Pearl Fishers".
I see that the organizer of the competition wanted to verify the authorship of the work and offered to show a selfie with the work I hope that my signature on a piece of paper and today’s date will be enough.
Not the best time for me to take selfies lol.
So I decided to depict a boat hollowed out of a tree trunk under sail.
I had never painted a boat from this angle before, and especially since I was trying to show it at night I had to swim towards it in the fog and in the hope that everything would work out.
I think that one pearl diver will be bored and depicted two divers who are tired and a little cold on their way home.
I didn’t have a lot of free time I had to do everything very quickly so all this was drawn at an “express” pace.
The worst was yet to come. When I needed to plunge the painting into the night it was very easy to lose control lol.
I was worried that everything would look monotonous and unattractive but as they say I bought a one-way ticket and my train had already left the station platform.
As a result I ended up with such a modest painting which I may work on in the future.

Creo que se envolvieron en mantas o colchonetas calientes mientras nadaban y se calentaban después de un largo día buceando en busca de mariscos, y cuando llegaron a casa pudieron apreciar plenamente su trabajo :)
