Dear Steemit's friends, lovers of Italian football,
with the quite predictable victory (3-0) of the Italian champions Juventus over a brave Crotone, the twenty-first day of the 2020/21 Serie A championship ended last night, the one that will be forever remembered as the tournament of closed stadiums and crowded spectators outside sports arenas (wouldn't it be better, at this point, allow a limited number of people to enter while respecting all security protocols deemed necessary?)
Thanks to the three points obtained, the team of Pirlo has thus moved up to third place in the standings, and if we also consider that the Bianconeri have so far played one match less (the one against Napoli, the only match postponed until today for health reasons), it is easy to understand how the disadvantage of the champions of Italy against the Milanese teams can be further shortened, in such a way as to allow them to re-enter the Scudetto race.
But the eyes of Italian football fans were obviously focused on the Milan derby, which on Sunday afternoon saw Antonio Conte's Inter triumph quite clearly, thanks to a double scored by Lautaro Martinez and a great goal by Lukaku. In advantage after just five minutes, the Nerazzurri led the match without risking anything, except for some super save of Handanovic at the beginning of the second half, closing the contest after having well contained the return of the rivals.
What has been foreshadowed for some time, that is, the head of the table being taken by the strongest and most organised team to win at a qualitative and quantitative level, is slowly coming true. Now Inter can count on four points of advantage over Milan, second, and eight (potentially reducible to five) over Juventus third: to oust the team coached by Conte from the first place, I think it will become a quite difficult operation.
To favour the Nerazzurri's ride towards the Scudetto, there are also potential rivals, never able to find continuity during the season, or in the middle of a period of crisis, like Milan. That the Rossoneri were not equipped to compete until the last day against stronger teams is an axiom that I have been repeating for some time, so much so that I would not be surprised to see them pay the high price of this initial race from now until the end of the season.
The ugly story between Ibrahimovic and Lukaku in the derby of the Coppa Italia also seems to have backfired on the Swede, who since then has seemed no longer the same athlete capable of piercing the defences of opposing teams with disarming ease. All in all, finishing among the top four teams in the table will still be a result in line with initial expectations for Milan, who should perhaps now realistically concentrate more on strengthening their position than on running after Inter.
So is there only Juventus left to frighten the leaders? Judging by the fluctuating season of all the other pursuers, it seems so. Roma threw away the umpteenth golden opportunity to come back to the top, drawing 0-0 in Benevento against an opponent reduced to ten players by the sending off of Glik in the first minutes of the second half.
Every time this year Fonseca's team has seemed to be on the verge of flying off the handle, it has had a negative game, capable of suddenly lowering its expectations, and the last day was no exception to this rule.After all this evidence it seems difficult to change course in the last few days, and I think that Roma, in line with the forecasts, is accredited to a place in the top four, even if the word Scudetto has become, if it had ever been otherwise, unpronounceable in Trigoria.
Atalanta handed yet another defeat to Gattuso's Napoli (the eighth in twenty-two games), who continues to lead the team practically as an estranged man and in clear conflict with president De Laurentiis. Not even the victory over Juventus last day was able to galvanise the team, which is evidently overwhelmed by internal disagreements and intent on paying for the evident construction and management faults.

What we are living is likely to be the second consecutive season for Napoli destined to conclude in a position from the fifth down, and it would be good if, after the excuses, the management of the Neapolitan club took its responsibilities: who built a squad so unsatisfactory to compete at high levels? Who made their choice choose a coach of great character and sporting sense as Gattuso, but in my opinion inadequate to pursue great results?
Atalanta continues its fluctuating championship, but I'm sure that nobody in Bergamo dares to ask more of Gasperini and his players. The former coach of Genoa and Inter has been able to make up for the difference in quality with the first ones of the class with his ideas and the organization of the game, and gravitating for the fourth consecutive year around the positions that mean qualification for the European cups is a goal that not even the most optimistic of Atalanta fans hoped to achieve only a short time ago.
An eye must be brought also to Lazio, which seems to have found again, apart from the defeat against Inter, the sort of continuity needed to get great results in a crazy championship like the present one. The team of Inzaghi, especially if it will be forced to leave the Champions League, could become the real loose cannon for the end of the championship, and finding it in the first four positions at the end of the season does not seem at this point so utopian as a few months ago.

At the bottom of the standings, Torino finally returns to victory (the first on the team bench of Davide Nicola), and does so in one of the most important matches, winning in Cagliari against a close competitor in the fight for not being relegated. With this victory, the second team of the city of Turin allows itself a few Sundays of tranquility, being now able to count on five points ahead of the third last (Cagliari).
Parma also moved up in the standings, being caught up by Udinese** at the end of the match after having taken a two-goal lead, but the spirit seen on the pitch by the returning D'Aversa team bodes well. Against all odds, I am convinced that in the end the team from Emilia will be saved, probably to the disadvantage of Torino, although some malicious people might think that mine is more a wish than a prediction.
Needless to say, the Serie A is in its crucial period right now and losing points at this stage could weigh double. The next day will see Inter hosting the tough Genoa, regenerated by the return of Ballardini, while Juventus will have to overcome Verona, trying to forget the bad defeat suffered last season at the hands of the Venetians. Roma-Milan smells of very important points in view of the next Champions League, while Spezia-Parma and Crotone-Cagliari promise to give great agonism in the salvation zone.

Cari amici di Steemit, amanti del calcio italiano,
con la vittoria abbastanza scontata (3-0) dei campioni d'Italia della Juventus su di un comunque coraggioso Crotone, si è conclusa ieri sera anche la ventireesima giornata del campionato di Serie A 2020/21, quello che verrà ricordato per sempre come il torneo degli stadi chiusi e del pubblico affollato al di fuori degli impianti sportivi (non varrebbe la pena, a questo punto, fare entrare un numero limitato di persone rispettando tutti i protocolli di sicurezza ritenuti necessari?)
Grazie ai tre punti ottenuti, la squadra di Pirlo si è così portata al terzo posto in classifica, e se si considera anche che i bianconeri hanno fin qui disputato una partita in meno (quella con il Napoli, l'unica gara rimandata fino ad oggi per motivi sanitari), riesce facile comprendere come lo svantaggio dei campioni d'Italia nei confronti delle squadre milanesi possa essere ulteriormente accorciato, in modo tale da permettere loro di rientrare nella corsa scudetto.
Ma gli occhi degli appassionati del calcio italiano erano ovviamente concentrati sul derby di Milano, che domenica pomeriggio ha visto trionfare l'Inter di Antonio Conte piuttosto nettamente, grazie alla doppietta di Lautaro Martinez e al gran goal di Lukaku. In vantaggio dopo appena cinque minuti, i nerazzurri hanno condotto la partita senza rischiare praticamente nulla, se si fa eccezione solo per qualche super parata di Handanovic all'inizio del secondo tempo, chiudendo la contesa nella ripresa dopo aver ben contenuto il ritorno dei rivali.
Quello che da tempo si andava prefigurando, ovvero la presa della testa della classifica da parte della squadra più forte e più organizzata per vincere a livello qualitativo e quantitativo, si sta lentamente avverando. Ora l'Inter può contare su quattro punti di vantaggio sul Milan, secondo, e otto (potenzialmente riducibili a cinque) sulla Juventus terza: scalzare la formazione di Conte dal primo posto credo diventerà un'operazione piuttosto difficile.
A favorire la cavalcata nerazzurra verso lo scudetto concorrono anche le potenziali rivali, mai capaci di trovare conitnuità nel corso della stagione, o nel bel mezzo di un periodo di crisi, come il Milan. Che i rossoneri non fossero attrezzati per competere fino all'ultima giornata contro squadre sulla carta più forti, è assioma che vado ripetendo da tempo, tanto che non mi stupirei di veder loro pagare il prezzo salato di questa corsa iniziale da qui alla fine della stagione.
La brutta storia capitata tra Ibrahimovic e Lukaku nel derby di Coppa Italia sembra inoltre essersi ritorta contro lo svedese, che da allora è sembrato non più lo stesso atleta capace di perforare con semplicità disarmante le difese delle squadre avversarie. Tirando le somme, finire tra le prime quattro squadre della classifica sarà comunque un risultato in linea con le aspettative iniziali per il Milan, che forse ora dovrebbe realisticamente più concentrarsi a rafforzare la sua posizione che non a correre dietro l'Inter.
Rimane dunque solo la Juventus a poter spaventare la capolista? A giudicare dalla stagione altalenante di tutte le altre inseguitrici sembra proprio di sì. La Roma ha buttato via l'ennesima occasione d'oro per riaffacciarsi con prepotenza dalle parti della vetta, pareggiando 0-0 a Benevento contro un avversario per di più ridotto in dieci uomini dall'espulsione di Glik nei primi minuti del secondo tempo.
Ogni qualvolta quest'anno la squadra di Fonseca è sembrata sul punto di spiccare il volo, la stessa è andata incontro ad una partita negativa, capace di ridimensionarne di colpo le aspettative,e anche l'ultima giornata non si è sottratta a questa regola. Dopo tutte queste prove appare difficile un cambio di rotta nelle ultime giornate, e credo che la Roma, in linea con le previsioni della vigilia, sia accreditata ad un posto tra le prime quattro, anche se la parola scudetto è diventata, se mai fosse stato altrimenti, impronunciabile dalle parti di Trigoria.
L'Atalanta ha inferto l'ennesima sconfitta al Napoli di Gattuso (l'ottava in ventidue gare), che continua a guidare la squadra praticamente da separato in casa e in netta contrapposizione con il presidente De Laurentiis. Nemmeno la vittoria ottenuta la scorsa giornata sulla Juventus è stata in grado di galvanizzare l'ambiente, evidentemente travolto dai dissaporti interni e intento a pagare i difetti di costruzione e di gestione apparsi evidenti.
Quella che stiamo vivendo rischia di essere la seconda stagione consecutiva per il Napoli destinata a concludesri in una posizione dalla quinta in giù, e sarebbe bene che, terminate le scuse, il management della società partenopea si prendesse le proprie responsabilità: chi ha costruito un organico in maniera così poco soddisfacente per competere ad alti livelli? Chi ha fatto ricadere la propria scelta su un allenatore di grande carattere e senso sportivo come Gattuso, ma a mio giudizio inadeguato per perseguire grandi risultati?
L'Atalanta continua il suo campionato altalenante, ma sono certo che anche dalle parti di Bergamo nessuno osi chiedere di più a Gasperini e ai suoi giocatori. Con una rosa non certo di livello internazionale, l'ex allenatore di Genoa e Inter è risucito a supplire negli anni con le idee e con l'organizzazione di gioco alla differenza di qualità con le prime della classe, e gravitare per il quarto anno consecutivo attorno alle posizioni che significano qualificazione alle coppe europee è un traguardo che nemmeno il più ottimista tra i tifosi atalantini sperava di raggiungere solo fino a poco tempo fa.
Un occhio di riguardo deve essere portato anche alla Lazio, che sembra aver di nuovo trovato, sconfitta con l'Inter a parte, quella sorta di continuità necessaria per ottenere grandi risultati in un campionato pazzo com quello attuale. La squadra di Inzaghi, specialmente se sarà costratta ad abbandonare la Champions League, potrà diventare la vera mina vagante per la fine del campionato, e trovarla nelle prime quattro posizioni al termine della stagione non sembra a questo punto così utopistico come qualche mese fa.

In fondo alla classifica colpaccio del Torino, che torna finalmente alla vittoria (la prima sulla panchina granata di Davide Nicola), e lo fa in uno dei scontri più importanti, andando a vincere a Cagliari contro una ditretta concorrente nella lotta per non retrocedere. Con questa vittoria la seconda squadra della città di Torino si concede qualche domenica di tranquillità, potendo ora contare su cinque punti di vantaggio sulla terz'ultima (Cagliari).
Muove la classifica anche il Parma, che si fa raggiungere dall'Udinese sul finale della partita dopo essere stata in vantaggio anche di due reti, ma lo spirito visto in campo dal ritorno di D'Aversa lascia ben sperare. Contro ogni pronostico sono convinto che alla fine la squadra emiliana si salverà, a scapito probabilmente del Torino, anche se qualche maligno potrebbe pensare che il mio sia più un auspicio che una previsione.
Inutile dire che la Serie A sta vivendo ora il suo periodo cruciale e che perdere punti in questa fase potrebbe pesare il doppio. La prossima giornata vedrà la capolista Inter ospitare il coriaceo Genoa, rigenerato dal ritorno di Ballardini, mentre la Juventus dovrà superare lo scoglio Verona, provando a dimenticare la brutta sconfitta patita la passata stagione per mano dei veneti. Roma-Milan profuma di punti molto importanti in ottica Champions League, mentre Spezia-Parma e Crotone-Cagliari promettono di regalare grande agonismo in zona salvezza.
