Basics of Steem (Part 08) : Master Password
INTRO
INTROThe Tron Fan Club is a specialized community working on some specific topics. As a moderator of the community, I am regularly sharing several tutorials to help newbies. In this series of tutorials, I am trying to share the basic issues of Steem blockchain.
A Password containing about 52 characters is generated while creating an account in Steem Blockchain which is called Master Password. This is the seed password for generating other keys mentioned in previous tutorial. The master password is the most sensitive key to our Steemit account that we receive when we create an account.
This is the most sensitive password for any Steem blockchain user. Never give your master password to anyone. All the keys discussed in earlier tutorial are basically generated based on your master password. Different keys like Posting, Active etc are layers according to level of activity and security of the operation. Different keys are used for different layer of activity but it is possible to complete the operation of all the keys with the master password.
For example is a chess game, boat can move straight only where elephant can move diagonal only but minister can move in both way. Similarly, Master password works in that that way here. Master password do same as minister does in chess game. Master password is the head of all your keys. So the most sensitive and important thing for you is to save your master password very well.
The name of previously discussed topics were keys but this one is password. So, they are different in that direction. Password will allow you to enter into the whole building but keys will allow you to enter into specific rooms of that building. With your keys, you can perform specific activities but Master password can do all. So, now you can understand that there is a difference between the two. All keys are generated based on your master password so master password is very important for you. You can activate all keys with master password. Keep it safe with all your possible ways. In last of this account security series, I shall share some suggestions to secure your keys and password and I hope those techniques will be useful for you. Thanks for today.
