Achievement 6 task, title: Understanding curation and community by @Solexybaba
Hi everyone, I am back again for my achievement 6 task and in this article, I will be talking on how one can understand curation and community here in steemit. Seat back and relax while I explain this in details by answering the following questions.
Do you understand how voting and curation work on steemit?
1- Voting
The word voting is seen as a way we appreciate, like, support, an article created by an author of that same article. an article or post is voted when the contents in such article is beneficial and enriched in knowledge. allow me to drift out a little for more elaboration. In various social media platforms, post and pictures get likes even though what is posted does not make sense, so now that is their own way of supporting post. while here we see it as a vote and for an author's article to gain or get votes, He or She need to make sure that the article is well knowledgeable and beneficial to the respected persons or community in question.
There are two (2) basic type of Voting, and below are the two types of votiing in details.
i - Upvote - The Upvote refers to one supporting a post which interest an individual. one can only get this vote when a content is enriched with knowledge and when the post is beneficial to the reader, this is done by clicking the arrow above which face the upward direction. below is a description of this type of vote.
ii - Downvote - The downvote is the opposite of the upvote, it is a reaction from the reader which shows the dislike of an article as a result of the article not being beneficial, not knowledgeable. and as such it can not be supported. and it is done by clicking the arrow which face the downward direction.
2- Curation
Curation is given to a post when the curator upvote a post and when can only be curated when that same upvotes has more number/amount of voting power then the post will be rewarded with a particular amount of (SBD) which is known as the Steem based dollars.
Mind you, upon curation of a post it is a standard rule that when an article is rewarded, the reward is being divided into two halves. 50% is for the curators and then the other 50% is for the author of that particular article. it does not matter the amount of reward you get, provided that the article is been curated then the reward will be divided. so it all depends on the curator's voting power. so it is a win-win situation.

What happened if you vote a post before 5 minute marks after posting?
On the account of voting and curation, if a vote is made within or before five (5) minutes after uploading an article, the curation reward will then not be shared equally. below is a tabular explanation.

| One minute later | The curator gets (20%) and (80%) stays in the rewards pool. |
| Two minute later | The curator gets (40%) and (60%) stays in the rewards pool. |
| Three minute later | The curator gets (60%) and (40%) stays in the rewards pool. |
| Four minute later | The curator gets (80%) and (20%) stays in the rewards pool. |
| Five minute later | The curator get all the (100%) rewards. |
Who will you vote for Steem Witness ? and Why?
At first you will have to go to your browser if you want to vote for Steem Witness. when you logon to your browser input in the search box Steem Witness Voting page It will take you to the page where you will be able to vote just an active witness. you can also vote for just thirty (30) witnesses as seen below.
So now I choose to vote for @steemchiller because he has continuously added new features to the amazing tool he created called the Steem World that with the changing steem ecosystem including the scot token support in which we all know it is a very important and useful, it is used for several purposes such as checking account information, operations, delegate steem power to other users, know one's voting power, view one's rewards and so on. below is an image of the Witness I choose to vote for.
Which community will you join in Steemit, and why?
Talking about the community I will like to join is so interesting because I am already part of some communities especially the Newcomer's Community, CampusConnect and also SteemitCryptoAcademy and I will also like to explore and join more community as we continue in this pace. I will like to join the Steem Entrepreneurs in other to gain more insight and contribute to the entrepreneurship world. below are some communities I recently subscribed into.

Understanding Curation and Community in Steemit is very important and it will help one to know how curation rewards are dispensed and also it helps one to choose a community of one's choice. thank you for your time.
