Money and Marriage contest Winners Announcement

Going through all 27 entries to this contest, it was a real rollercoaster of different perspectives. I can asure you that you all nailed it. Thankful to all the participants and commenters who made this contest a real success.

You all expressed your opinion with deep feelings just as it was expected and I spent most of the time identifying with the emotions expressed in your opinion on the issue of money and marriage.

while some did indeed agree that money was central to the happiness of a couple, others felt money on its own could not guarantee happiness.

According to @abija "...money is just part of the things that makes family happiness and not central..."

@radleking and a few others had a totally different view of the matter, summing it up in a sentence he said "couples won't use love to buy themselves food, clothings and shelter" adding a valid supporting comment, @paholags stated:

... I am a faithful believer of the saying "Hungry love does not hard" because, if we don't have monetary income, no matter how much love one has, the bond between a couple or a family member will be broken...

Refuting the idea that money was key to family happiness @ishayachris made this important remarks.

It was at this point that I knew it was not just a contest but a battle of conflicting opinions. but despite the difference in opinion, all seem to agree with @yhudy's conclusion that "A family needs peace of mind and love and understanding to live a happy life"

Regardless of the fears nature of the tussle, there was a middle ground. As spotted in a statement made by @awesononso, which showed that they were not blind when it came to the value of money in marriage. That was made clear when he said

@fonnydanny thinks money should be kept in its place, he believes that "... a family who have an unbalanced view of money might suffer stress, conflict, and emotional damage."

When looking at the reasons why we seem to have more money related problems in marriage this days @v-brainer felt that "people go into marriage unprepared."

Pointing the way forward @sur-riti suggest some kind of training for the couples.

I think that for the institution called marriage to run properly, husband and wife should also take a refresher course of their mutual promises made before or at the time of marriage, after some time.
