Perteneció al movimiento impresionista. Los modelos que utilizaba para sus obras eran escritores, artistas y actores, ya que pertenecía a una familia artística que se relacionaba con la élite intelectual rusa.
Falleció en Moscú el 5 de diciembre de 1911, a los 46 años.
A continuación les presentaremos tres de sus obras para que usted escoja la que más los motive a escribir. La primera se llama: "Iphigenia at Tauris" (1893), la segunda, "El rapto de Europa" (1910) y la última, "Niños" (1899).

He belonged to the Impressionist movement. The models he used for his works were writers, artists and actors, since he belonged to an artistic family that related to the Russian intellectual elite.
He died in Moscow on December 5, 1911, at the age of 46.
