Helpie’s Homesteading Curation Report

12th Edition

helpie-homesteading_01.png

Welcome to the weekly Helpie Homesteading Curation Report, where we feature some amazing content creators coming out of the Homesteading Community. Our goal is to find those individuals that are producing high quality content and raise them up to help them grow. We do this by featuring them here to introduce them to all of you lovely people. We hope this helps to get them a larger audience, therefore getting them the recognition we think their wonderful content deserves. Then, because we think it is important to give credit where credit is due, we split this reports payout between the featured authors. We believe this is the only fair way to curate these individuals content that they have worked so hard on. We hope that if you choose to use these blogs in a post of your own, that you will join us in paying them for their content as well.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for great content! We want to reward those individuals that are taking their time and energy to add value to the platform through their high quality content. That’s it, think quality over quantity. We will be collecting them through the week and posting our favorites here each Monday. We will also feature a Helpie Homesteader of the month on the first Monday of the month.

First Things First: What is Helpie?

Helpie is a new and unique educational community within Steemit, designed to help users that are creating quality content grow on the platform. We do this through a variety of ways including;

  • Lessons designed to help users navigate the steemit network and teach them how to get the most out of it. (ex. GINAbot Tutorial, Growing Your Following On Steemit, and Markdown Challenge
  • Daily Steemit related trivia and contests
  • Mentorship from established Steemit users in all different categories
  • A place to discuss ideas, collaborate with other members, and build your personal community
  • Daily upvote from Helpie for members
  • Weekly Curation of great quality content. We have a wonderful Fine Arts Curation By@art-mess in addition to this Homesteading Curation and hope to add more categories in the future.

Helpie is an invite only community, but anyone can participate in the daily trivia questions. You are not required to upvote Helpie’s posts to participate. This initiative is not meant to be a vote for vote operation; it’s an educational tool only. If you would like to be considered to join @Helpie as a minnow in training, please consider joining PALnet/MSP and participating in the community. We have scouts constantly looking for the right minnows to support, and they will reach out with a private invitation.

This Week's Featured Steemians

The Garden Bumble Bee Count – Join Us! By @Walkerland

If you aren’t following @walkerland yet, you really don’t know what you are missing. She has been one of my favorites for quite awhile and is consistently sharing her amazing stories with us. I say stories because even if she is giving us an update on the homestead or showing us a new diy trick, her writing flows so well that it captivates me just like a good book. She is a very talented writer and combines that with her stunning photography to take everything to the next level. She is also a very supporting member of the homesteading community and we are so lucky to have her here.

Her featured article today is all about bees! Those lovely pollinators have a special place in my heart and I enjoyed this post so much. She is encouraging us to notice our garden friends and take a few photos which we then can use to learn a bit more about them. I think it is such a fun and beneficial initiative and I’m excited to join!

He explains each plant to us as well as their health benefits and medicinal purposes, truly a man after my own heart! Join me in following this great content creator and learning all we can!

@Stortebeker is such a fun author who focuses on sustainability, permaculture, urban homesteading, natural building, health, nature and travel. He’s an avid cycler who even built his own bike out of scraps! Today he takes us through the steps of building his outdoor shower that is as beautiful as it is functional. He has some amazing tips and tricks and takes us through each step so we can do it ourselves. Go check it out as well as his other posts and make sure you follow him to not miss out on his future adventures.

This concludes the 12th edition of Helpie’s Weekly Homesteading Curation Report. We need your help in lifting these wonderful Steemians, so please go and read the featured Steamians blogs and show them the love that their hard work deserves. We believe it is important for us to lift up good content on Steemit to help further grow the platform as a whole.

We are constantly searching for good content that deserves to be in the spotlight. If you come across a Homesteading post that you believe is worthy of promotion in this weekly report, feel free to tag @llfarms in the comments or send a DM message over discord.

Thank you so much for reading and Happy Homesteading,

Thanks for featuring me in your weekly homesteading curation report!

Awesome article, homestead is really an investment.

You’re so welcome! I really enjoyed your video and am excited to be following you now. Thank you for making great content ❤️

Thanks helpie, I'm just learning about you myself.

I love curation posts as they always help to corral great content into one post to aide we Steemians in finding more wonderful content. And although I consider myself more of an 'art poster' I dabble in homesteading and love gardening and keeping chickens etc so I love homesteading tags as so many post about thins relevant and exciting to me. Thanks for this!

Wow thank you @donnadavisart! I’m actually a huge fan of your artwork and am so excited to hear that we have some other things in common 😍. Haha.

I think manual curation is so important and we really want to lift good content as much as we can. Thanks so much for the kind works 🙏

Congrats! :)

Thanks so much for the feature and the kind words. Truly lovely. I really enjoyed the posts you featured, and found a new blog to follow as well! Thank you!

I enjoy your blog so much, you always present things so beautifully... it’s wonderful. I’m excited to start keeping track of the bees in our area too, thank you for sharing such a great initiative!

Oh, I was just so thrilled that someone liked the idea other than me!

I've got two types of bees documented now and I just can't help but stop and watch them so I can discern the markings. I just hadn't realized there were so many different types of bumble bees until I started this project.

awesome work as always... I'm all about repurposing materials... the shower looks awesome!

Isn’t that so cool!! I want one 😂
