Protecting Your Eyes with the Right Habits
Our vision is perhaps the most important sense for many, if not all, but most people admit that they do not care for their eyes as they should. This leaves many people with poor vision, which means a greater need for glasses and contact lenses to help you see better. On the other hand, someone can have an eye injury. Damage to the eye has the potential for visual loss or blindness if it is serious, untreated or incompletely treated.
Knowledge of a healthy lifestyle is an important element of eye care. Watching TV with the computer, reliance on optical correction from glasses and contacts, as well as the normal process of aging all contribute to weak and distorted vision. Prevention is always better than healing, so lets start with lifestyle choices.
Lifestyle choices
With the elimination of the harmful life choices and bad habits that have a direct impact on the health of our eyes, you can protect your face. Here are a few that deserve your attention:
Smoking has many negative effects on your vision, all caused by the use of tobacco produce free radicals. Alcohol can help your eyes in moderate uses, but is very harmful when used for a long time. For people who already wear glasses, you can lessen the damage to your eyes by performing eye exercises and relaxation techniques daily to increase optical muscle strength and coordination.
The human eye is not designed to spend hours to focus on close objects. If you use the computer every day , make sure you have a computer glare protector connected to your screen and resting your eyes periodically will help your eyes to relax.
If you think your neck and shoulders are under pressure, usually when you work long hours on the computer, drawing eight exercise will help you. It goes as follows:
Find a quiet and peaceful place. Draw imaginary “eight”, you have to do with your nose, but move your head too. Large eights helps to relax your neck and shoulders. Smaller eights helps to relax your eyes and smaller muscles. Move your head slowly, avoid pulling and fast moves. You can draw your eight as well vertically as horizontally.
Eye Injury At Home
Remember that accident in household routines such as an extensive chemical splash to your eyes while using bleach in your home may cause severe injury. Reading and following the manufacturer’s instructions and safety warnings can help you prevent this. Careful steps such as Wrap the cork in a towel and grip it tightly when you open a bottle of a household product containing substance dangerous to your eyes and point it away from yourself and others as you remove the cork is recommended. If necessary wear safety glasses made of hard plastic when you clean the oven or use other strong chemicals.
