What exactly is detoxification?
It is a process of removing toxins (harmful substances) from the body. In this case it is gradually removing the toxins, this regime is perfect for one or twice in a week but is also mild enough to be done every-day. Although there are a lot of long term detox like the alcohol detox, sugar detox, etc.
The effective ways to detox.
Start the morning with a full glass of water and fresh lemon: Lemons are known for re hydrating the body thereby flushing out wastes from the body. It also refreshes you, allowing you to start you day partially clean and refreshed. Drink more glasses of water during the day to keep flushing out toxins.
Exercise your body or at least stretch:
People who engage in one form of exercise or the other tends to have far fewer toxins than people who don’t exercise. Exercises encourage blood circulation while keeping you fit. Overall, exercise has been proven to heighten emotions. So you see, you are detoxing, keeping fit and still happy!!!
- Binge on fresh fruits:
We all know fruits aids digestion and allows your body to absorb the right amount of nutrients. While you get to eat your water through fruits, you also lose weight and still get detoxified.
- If you must take tea, take herbal tea!
Note that the caffeine in herbal tea is different from the one in coffee, the one in herbal tea is gentle on the body system. These kind of tea is full of anti-oxidants, it hydrates your body at the same time preventing you from over eating or worse still, eating the wrong things.
Eliminate pollutants from your surrounding:
It is super important to set your mood right for this process as it might be prove to be difficult. Make sure you wake up to a clean and sweet smelling room. If it means staying up late to keep your room clean, spending a few bucks to buy your favourite kind of freshener (I particularly love the strawberry wind freshener), DO IT.Run far away from sugar:
Avoid all forms of sugar and its substitutes that contain toxic sweeteners. If you must sweeten your food, opt for natural substitutes like PURE honey, maple syrup, coconut sugar etc.
Stay away from alcohol and smoking:
Do I even need to say this. You need a clean, healthy body and bad habits should not get in the way. Excessive intake of alcohol and nicotine from smoking (tobacco especially) can prevent your body from relaxing well thereby hindering detox.Get enough sleep:
Yes, I meant it, it was not a mistake. Sleep, sleep, sleep. Sleep deprivation is all too common nowadays and it’s so unfortunate. Lack of sleep will always catch up with you at some point and worse still you might add unwanted weight or probably compromise your immune system.
- Get an intense massage:
Most of us think of massage as a luxury or as a way of spoiling yourself, which in some cases, it is. You can also make massage work for you by working with a good and experienced masseur, the aim is to reach deep into the muscle tissues. Toxins tends to hide in the pressure points of the body, so deep massage can cause those pressure points to release the toxins.
- Stay away from toxic people:
There, i said it! You do not want to be around toxic people this period and beyond, run from nagging people, say goodbye to the naysayers, and walk away from people with negative vibes. Surround yourself with happy people, learn their secrets and be happy too!

I usually practice the water routine, sometimes I binge on fresh fruits when they are readily available, I totally avoid alcohol and I delete toxic people from my life Asap.
Ps: I have a sweetheart tooth, so avoiding sugar is a biggie for me.
