My 28 day sugar detox days 4 and 5 - down but certainly not out!

This is where the detox becomes hard work! I have to push on through these next few days.. I have been feeling tired and sluggish, but then I also don't sleep well at night - it's so frustrating!
The cravings are coming and going but I am finding myself not wanting to go to the supermarket so I can avoid temptation. I went yesterday and found myself wandering around aimlessly - but I didn’t come out with anything sugary or any other junk food! I have also been finding the logging of the food really difficult - it is difficult to measure out every little thing. I am to get back to properly logging food on MFP tomorrow. This morning I went into the cupboard and nearly had a handful of raisins but then realised that would just be a huge sugar hit so had to stop myself

The positives


There has definitely been some positives I have noticed already. My skin has cleared up already - I have had problems with acne and now my skin is clear, it's like a miracle!
When you aren’t eating packaged foods or sugar you certainly have to learn to be more creative with what you eat - and it is making me really start to enjoy cooking again. When you eat packaged foods you can easily just get by without too much effort. I can’t do that and so I am spending a lot more time in the kitchen. It's amazing how good it makes you feel eating a lunch that has been freshly cooked with meat and fresh vegetables. Some key ingredients for making tasty meals: ginger, garlic, spices and sauces. It's amazing what these can add to an otherwise bland meal. We have also been eating for snacks - basil pesto and hummus with carrots and celery, peanut butter, cheese and olives.

I think the biggest challenge will be the coming few days - dealing with and coming to terms with these cravings for sugar, sometimes they are very strong.

You should be not far off being through the physiological addiction to sugar, after 5 days. The psychological addiction is another story though. You're so right that you have to plan ahead. Any time you feel tempted to give in, remember that it will trigger the addiction right back up :-( You don't want to have to go through 5 days withdrawal again!

Since you're still quite high in carbs, your energy will hopefully come back when you get through this stage. Fingers crossed!

Thanks. No i figure im gettkng past the hardest bit now. Yeah and also dont want to have to write on my blog that i failed! The power of accountability is stonger than i thought.

Yes, but after 2 weeks without sugar, I tried some products with stevia. have you tried?

I havent tried yet..Im guna try stick it out I feel like its kinda cheating with Stevia? I think that it wont help the 'detox'...
