A short rant then gratitude

in #gratitute6 years ago

I’ve been reading so much about successful Steemians using anonymous accounts and draining the pool by moving funds into Bittrex.

Then there are the posts about why bid bots should not be used. How they drain the Steem dollars. These bid bots are used by people not hiding anything and can be attacked by others saying well I won’t vote for you. Look at the content and not the money. Then decide whether you want to vote on the content.

Gratitude … it is best not to hide anything ☺

Suddenly it occurs to me this morning it is time for gratitude. After all, it is the Wild West in Steemit and we are all making money and history while finding our way.

Thank you is music to the Cosmos

I will leave you with a song by Alanis Morissette, "Thank U"
If I remember correctly she wrote this song after her return from India.

I needed that song ☺

Have a wonderful Steemit day!

Great reminder, to one self.
I'm always grateful when anyone would read and vote for my post, but I can always have the choice to interact with who I resonate with ;)

same here and I like to resonate with quality people like yourself.

Likewise Rebecca!

I want to thank each of you who commented on my post it means a lot to me. I am lost as to how of the bots and anonymous accounts work and just felt like getting something in writing.

I have and do use a bot at the expense of 3 dollars usually. I also use the resteem bot and the gina bot and steemvote bot.

When I joined I was opposed to any and all bots, guess I have softened my view. What an adventure Steemit has been for me with growth in not only online but in my life.

The last time I used a bid bot a guy commented I that I should use it within 30 mins to get 100% curation. My goal is simply to be noticed and well I don't use it right away I wait. Guess I have a lot to learn.

I totally agree with you. I don’t think anyone has to prove himself to no one . Of course bots are used mainly by minnows who need more attention and it is only good for the steemit community. I ll agree that you should look at the content before you give a vote. But I seriously doubt that big whales even look at those posts. The majority at least.using bots or not it is an option platform gives you. Nothing illegal there

I agree with this comment and think we think the same on bots. Thanks for commenting ..it seemed no one understood what I was trying to convey. Lol

lack of communication it is called:P

I don’t know how Alanis fits in here but again I was never sure where she fits. Although in this crazy land of steemit Alanis would have said FU a long time ago and marched on. I wrote a post on bidbots yesterday showing how you lose money using them. It was a 50 sbd experiment. Idiot me, I should have just listened to you.

Lol ... well, she is saying thank you. That was how I wanted to end the post in gratitude and she hides nothing.

I read your post. I will still use bid bots because I like the exposure. I only spend minimum on one bot... call me cheap...knowing that is not for profit but exposure...we live in a society worldwide that values money over everything else and to get a regular guy to read a post maybe money will help.

I feel you, finding original content is so damn hard when everyone is using bots to upvote their mediocre content for money . Most times not even the comments are true, they just copy paste positivity so others upvote them. The worst part is that the creators are fine with it...
I'm profiting off this platform as long as I can and then I'm moving my content onto some blog

stay here with the rest of us...I heard you can write on your blog and put it here if you notify Cheetah ... I have not researched how it works yet. I agree the bots can throw off what is good...but I do use one to get exposure. Thanks for commenting I will check out your content too.

Thanks, can you help me out and tell me what bot you're using?

You have said it right. people are here for making money and selling their thoughts...

I did not understand whether it is possible to earn using bots? May not be worth it to spend time on this?
Thank you for your thoughts! Resteem from @grisotti

I am not as good figuring it all out but according to others you lose money using the bots.
So I am not telling people what they need to do.
People abuse any system. I like to use a bot to help with visibility at times and am paying for self promotion. Some feel this is cheating by not taking the time to let the funds build naturally or hoping someone notices your post, that someone being a whale. I like to help create my own success. I have had more than one whale vote on my posts. I have won some curation awards and that is all great but this is something I can do for myself.

Could you give me some proven best practices to promote my blog? Advance thanks!

what you are doing here is key...you are on your way...commenting and interacting in a meaningful way

The problem with vote bots is that they delude the content, content which has no value, gets put on trending page and gets all the coins.

I saw this guy, who earns 200$ per post using vote bots and then he shares some content and only earns 18 cents. Then he buys the bot and instantly it's a 200 post. So you know, it is not fair. Poor guys can't afford to buy bid bots, because if you won't spend 100 dollars, you won't get a 200 bot bid.

I see your point and well taken .. I feel the same way if it is abused.

There is definitely a schism about the bots. Mostly to do with people using them and taking money out of the platform.
I do use them moderately, as to me it is just another form of marketing and advertising your posts to get more engagement. It's the cost of doing business and this is a business as well as a social experiment.
Obviously you may get a negative return and it's a gamble.
On the upside it's a way to get more SBD to buy more steem. Which makes sense for us minnows.
Without promotions our posts just all vanish into the blockchain. Never to earn again.
I am very grateful for the engagement that I get and give on steemit but time is precious and is finite.
In the end you have to do what you think makes sense. I'm no judge as to what other people do. Having said that. I don't like the idea of people using fake accounts to upvote themselves.

On our own blogs off of steemit we continue to earn. I'm still earning from blogs that I wrote 8 years ago. And always have a backup plan!

I haven't used the resteem bots. Are they any good?

Lol it is all what you just said. I agree. I need to get my own blogs up to speed. I read someone's comment a while back that you can post your own blog (copy of your original blog) on Steemit but you must first let Cheetah know. I have not tried it but that would be great to write on my own blog and then post in here.

I was thinking the same thing but in reverse? I always keep my own websites running and post to them too. It's your content to place wherever you want. Cheetah will put you on a white list I believe. I had a comment just the once and it was resolved.
Steemit is not decentralized like many people think and could be shut down on a whim. Steem is decentralized and people often get the two confused.

Always have an exit strategy. We've been around the block a few times. Remember the tsu content fiasco?

Yes, so much negativity is draining my energy. It is quite easy to notice Steemit cheaters and they are not so much the one's making crappy posts and earning via bots, but the higher ups whom people swear are here to 'help'. It took only days to notice that and more since I know about marketing etc... funny thing is I can't stoop as low as them, I have a mirror to look at.

Much love dear friend. 💜 Stay positive.

stay true to yourself and do what you think is right.. :) that is all any of us can do.
