The Game Outlook : Final Fantasy XV
Hi steemians, I am here with another review. This time we’re looking at Final Fantasy XV for the PS4 and Xbox One.

Story
I heard there were a good some of people hating on this game simply because this is the first Final Fantasy game that doesn’t have a female staring as the four main playable characters, however that’s no reason to take a disliking for this game.
FFXV takes the series in a new direction.
It a story about four friends going on an adventure together. Noctis must go to the kingdom of Tenebrae to marry his childhood best friend Lunafreya Fleuret. Accompanied by his three friends Ignis, Promto, and Gladiolus from his home town in Lucis, they journey to Tenebrae.
Rating
FFXV is rated T for teens in America and Pegi 16 in Europe for language, mild blood, partial nudity, and violence. Once again this is another over rated (for lack of a better word) game. The language in this game is very mild, the nudity probably refers to where some of the characters clothes get ripped or Cindy. There’s battling in the game so of course there’s violence and partial blood only show up on clothes. I’d say this game could’ve been rated E10 for ages 10+ but this one I’d say decide for yourself.

The game was released November 29, 2016 in America in two editions. The original and the Day One Edition.
I was lucky enough to get a new copy of the Day One Edition about a month after the game came out. Anyway, Day One Edition comes with two download codes, one for a cool in game sword and another for a short spin off game called A King’s Tale. Final Fantasy XV is by far one of my personal favorites despite only having played three of them (unless you include the Bravely Default spin off series).
Gameplay
FFXV is an open world game with a variety of side quests with rewarding accomplishments. There are three methods of travel. On foot obviously, on the backs of chocobo (giant chicken ostriches for those of you who aren’t familiar with the series), and by car. This is the first time cars have been used in the series to my knowledge and further in the game you are allowed to customize it. You can either have Ignis drive the car automatically during the day or you the player as Noctis have the option to drive the car manually.
Later on, in the game you will be allowed to fast travel to certain place in the game as well. There are certain areas in the game where the car will be taken away from you, during this time it is wise to rent chocobo so you don’t have to walk everywhere.
The chocobo start out slow but the more you use them the more they level up and the faster and stronger they become. Battling in this game is different from other games I’ve seen.
It’s pretty much a hack and slash mixed with strategy. As Noctis you can carry four different weapons on you at a time. Weapons in this game consist of swords spears and other various melee weapons, guns and magic. I haven’t messed around with magic too much, but from what I can tell you just create magic fire/electric/ice balls that you can chuck at enemies.

There’s a slot for a fourth type of magic but I never got around to unlocking it. Enemies don’t drop money in this game. The only way to earn money is to either go bounty hunting for chefs in places that sell food, taking pictures for a photographer later in the game, or selling unneeded equipment and items and trust me you’re going to need a lot of it.
Likes
Like I said before this game doesn’t have a female playable character in it, now I enjoy a female protagonist as much as the next gamer but I’m glad they took the series in this new direction at least once. I’ve always enjoyed those bro/friend adventure games. It has that certain something about it that appeals to me as a gamer just as the opposite probably appeals to female gamers.
I also enjoyed getting to customize your car and choosing the color chocobo you want to ride. (honestly I didn’t figure that out until I beat the game).
I also enjoyed getting to take photos
And Prompto you can’t not like Prompto.
Dislikes
There’s only one thing I hate about this game. Square Enix spent more time on the side quests than the actual storyline.
The storyline feels rushed with a bunch of important details missing, unless you’re supposed to find them in the side quests.
Most of the characters that got killed off didn’t get enough screen time, and most of the characters had no backstories that were explained.
