Game Review: Nioh Bloodshed's End Review - The Concluding Final Agreement
As promised, no less than three full-featured NLCh TLC packages have been released with Bloodshed's End release. With this the stream of extensions has come to an end. Lyrically we were about the game and all its content so far. Whether the last TLC fits in the same row, you can read in the Nioh Bloodshed's End Review.
Bloodshed's End is based on Defiant Honor 's situation . The fire is still going on at Osaka, but this time the story takes place in summer instead of winter. By means of three new missions and two hands of side missions, you are killing your way through both humans and Yokai, to put an end to the moving period of time.
A safe Japan for all
That the Osaka siege was not completed in one day, you probably have already noticed during the previous DLC. In the summer edition, the central region is still the battlefield of the last remaining warlords. Unlike Defiant Honor, which was first of all, this time at last, the demonic crystals were used to protect the last enemy fortress. You can call the dirty game, but it takes care of some brutal fights, cutscenes and the decoupling that you waited for.
Bloodshed's End can be seen as a narrative end on the cliff hanger of the original game. The historical importance of the previous add-on has continued, with the release of the last DLC, the moved Sengoku period ends. Under the motto of "William and his allies defeated the last big enemy and reunited Japan", Nioh strikes his last battle cry.
With the help of more accompanying videos, information and backgrounds, the puzzle pieces of the trip are better placed in the game. Still, lines are kept open for a sequal. The end of Bloodshed's End tastes like more, just like the bosses who get along your way.
Boss above boss
Although the titanic fights in the previous DLCs felt very pleasant, we missed a bit of Yokai bossfights . With the final piece, our words are withdrawn, because all the bosses you get pre-ordered. A balanced mix between human fighters and Yokai is the result. Certainly with the addition of bosses from the main game, fans get more bossfights than the previous two DLCs together.
Where the boss fights of astronomical level are, the normal enemies are somewhat less. A few new enemies have been added, which are not exactly a world of difference. Although the challenge is alive again, it is not caused by the new strategies that are needed. Indeed, in opponents it seems as good as an extension of Defiant Honor by, among other things, the return of the Sanada Braves .
Lots of recognition
A little less surprising is the entire layout of the missions. The closing level is the only thing that remains, and that is due to the matches with the main game's final level. This does not mean that the graphic splendor of Bloodshed's End does not come true, on the contrary. Unfortunately, it is somewhat lacking in astonishment and originality.
The same principle has been implemented with the second degree of difficulty Nioh has at home. This is meant for the hardcore players who still hunger after their second playthrough . The predecessors did exactly the same, so here you are not overwhelmed by surprises . It's simply what you used to from the previous DLC releases.
On the edge of the abyss
Fortunately, Bloodshed's End still has a feature you have not seen before. This time you will not get an additional weapon class, but add a whole new game mode. The Abyss is as infinite mode as it operates according to a separate set of game rules.
Each "floor" has a boss that must be defeated to go to the next layer. These bosses become as you progress The Abyss is getting even more powerful, partly due to the debuffs they have around. These negative effects can be removed by taking four tests each layer.
The Abyss is a well-thought-out concept as a mode. For example, the game type is not just for the decor, as there are a lot of unique and stronger weapons to be made. The defiled equipment you pick up here can only take you outside the world if you survive a bossfight . Should you die for the defeat of this gatekeeper, you will also lose these strong habits.
A successful end
Nioh Bloodshed's End may not be a revolution within the franchise, but players are still enjoying themselves. In addition to a celebration, there are also new challenges in the form of The Abyss and amazing bossfights . All in all, it is a solid conclusion of what Nioh should be precise. Both gameplay and storytelling is the end earned by the (first) Nioh .
Bloodshed's End is included in the season pass, but if you do not own it, you will have a hand to gain access.
The plus and the drawbacks
✔ Bossfights pure entertainment
✔ Many missions and new challenges
✔ The end that Nioh deserves
✖ Not the most surprising levels and enemies
Thanks for reading, I hope you liked it!
