Callous

Callous. Cold and calculating – three words which bring to mind a forth which is somewhat of an abomination.

C**t.

Language.

And words and sticks as weapons.

The three teenagers surrounded the terrified dog and cruelly taunted it with a stick. Shivering in the shop doorway the poor animal was beyond saving itself as the louts screamed abuse at it, laughing hysterically, as the intimidated creature shivered in fear.

Across the street an old man saw what was happening.

Without a thought for his own safety, and finding a youthful gait, he wielded his walking stick at the youths and shouted;

“Clear off you callous, cowardly hooligans before I show you what for with this ‘ere stick of mine!”

Taken by surprise the thugs turned and ran spitting at the pensioner;

“C**t”.
