Freewrite: Day 36 - Selfie Freewrite Celebration Contest - Herbs

Herbs - This daily prompt is making me hungry. LOL... Why? Because I am going to share with you all a recipe of one of my favourite dish - Bah Kut Teh (Herbal Pork Bone Tea). And it's not only my favourite dish. Many members from Team Malaysia love this dish too! We have many meetups of Bah Kut Teh sessions for the past few months. We even introduce this awesome dish to our international friends. By we, I mean @aaronleang @joannewong @zord189. And of coz there are many more bah kut teh lovers too... If you are one bah kut teh lovers, let me know at the comment section. And if you from KL/Selangor area, or you will be visiting, maybe we can arrange a bah kut teh session! Yummy!

The main herbs used in the soup are as follow: -

Dang gui (Angelica sinensis)
Bei qi (Astragalus)
Chuan xiong (Rhizoma Ligustici)
Chinese licorice (Glycyrrhiza uralensis)
Star anise
Dang shen (Codonopsis Root)
White pepper
Cassia bark (Chinese cinnamon)
Yu zhu (Solomon Seal's Rhizome)
Wolfberries

There may be some slight difference in the herbs from different recipes. And nowadays to cook bah kut teh, it's even easier than before. We can just buy those prepacked bah kut teh herbs packs from any supermarket. There are many brands to choose from.

For a stronger flavour, I will still add in some herbs especially the garlic, Yu zhu and wolfberries to the prepacked herbs. I love to have pork ribs, pork belly and pig tail in my bah kut teh. I also love to have lots of mushroom and Fu Zhok (dried beancurd) to my bah kut teh too!

I am getting hungrier and hungrier. It's 4.10pm right now. Too early for dinner... I need to go get myself some snacks now, so that's it for this time!
