MY FIRST EVER MARANG EXPERIENCE

Who among you have tried eating MARANG? I'm sure most of my Filipino steemit friends are familiar with this fruit.
Known for its funky smell, marang or Artocarpus Odoratissimus has gained its popularity in the Philippines especially in the Mindanao area.
This fruit comes from the family of jackfruit and breadfruit. It has soft spiky cover and its flesh is a bunch of white cottony meat. It is basically round to oblong in shape and has a green to yellowish cover.
I used to believe that this fruit smells terrible as I could ever imagine... Like the durian. But I was wrong. It's been a while since my boyfriend told me to taste durian and marang. But hell no! I could not stand the smell alone. How much more its taste? Or so I thought.
Last night, my mom brought home marang. As I enter the dining area, I could smell a slight foul odor. But I ignored it. Not until I opened our refrigerator. What then there!!! Lol! It worked like a bomb, ya know!
But what made me decide to eat it? Well, I just want to experience eating it without someone noticing my 😲 expression. I could be very funny, I know.
For once I have tasted marang. Yes, I won't be left out.
This thought on my mind kept pushing me to do it so there is something I could brag about with friends.

I slowly picked the meat and pinched my nose so I could not smell it as I am about to poison myself. Lol!
The moment it landed on my mouth I was like...
OMG!!! THIS IS HEAVEN

It tastes so sweet and so soft. It is chewy and juicy too! How come I've missed this my whole life??? True enough, never judge something or someone thru impression. Otherwise you'll miss something worthy.
Marang is now one of my favorite fruits! It's a must try, I tell you!

Wow, marang is my 2nd favorite fruit! Its taste is sweet and the texture is somewhat soft like gel and the smell is so good. The season of marang was october til mid of december.
My 1st favorite fruit is durian :)
Many said that durian smells like ewww and since they dont like the smell, they were discouraged to at least taste it. But mind you, 9 out of 10 of my friends who dont like durian (because they said it smell like never mind), i force to at least taste it then 9 out of 10 likes the taste and now they started making durian as one of their fav food.
Try to taste durian just never mind the smell (although i like its smell :) you experience the sweet and yummy taste of durian - the king fruit as they say! I dont have any idea if @zyrawr likes durian :)
Hello! Thank you for your insight! My friends from Mindanao are telling me to taste durian too! And I will, someday! Saving my first taste with my boyfriend since I cheated on him when I tasted marang without him hahaha!
