Maybe yes, but probably it must have been bought, commonly for many people it is easier to buy the food already ready, now I ask Would you like to learn how to do it at home? It may seem a bit difficult but it is not, I can assure you that you would like it more to do it yourself than to buy it ready, you can add the ingredients that you like and your panetton will be delicious. The necessary ingredients for our panetton are:

  • -2 tablespoons of grain yeast
  • -1/2 cup of warm water
  • -1/3 cup of sugar
  • -1/4 cup of milk
  • -1/2 teaspoon salt
  • -1/4 teaspoon nutmeg powder
  • -2/3 cup of margarine without salt
  • -2 tablespoons grated orange peel
  • -1 teaspoon vanilla
  • -4 flour rates
  • -2 eggs plus 2 yolks
  • -1/2 cup of red wine
  • -1/2 cup raisins
  • -3/4 cup of candied fruit
  • -1/4 cup of chopped almonds
  • -Sugar from snow

Already having all the ingredients we went to the preparation:

1. Sprinkle the yeast in the form of rain on the warm water, with a spoonful of sugar, and let rise for 15 minutes.

2. We soak the raisins in the wine and reserve separately.

3. After 15 minutes, add the rest of the sugar, warm milk, salt, nutmeg, margarine, the shell grated orange, vanilla and 2 flour rates. We beat with an electric mixer, while we add the eggs and the yolks continue beating.

4. Add the remaining 2 cups of flour and lower the speed of the blender, beating for 5 more minutes.

5. We mix the mixture in a container greased with oil, and covered with a kitchen towel for an hour.

6. Then, add the wine, the raisins, the candied strawberries, the almonds, and mix with a wooden spoon.

7. We put the mixture in a special cap to bake panettone, 1 liter capacity (we can get it in pastry shops). Or we can also bake it in a metal can that measures about 20 cm in diameter x 12 cm high, approximately, greased with oil. Let stand for 45 minutes.

8. We preheat the oven to 350ºF for 30 minutes.

9. Bake until browned and when inserting a toothpick in the center, and it comes out dry, our panettone will be ready.

10. Let cool on grid and sprinkle over the sugar snow.

This delicious panettone will delight your family and friends, do not hesitate to make this recipe, panettone is essential to accompany family gatherings, and holiday feasts.
