TOFU BALLS

My secrets INGREDIENTS

♡ 200 gr. tofu

♡ 30 ml. soy sauce

♡ ½ c.c. mustard

♡ 1 tbsp. brown sugar

♡ 50 gr. toasted sesame seeds

♡ A handful of peeled walnuts

PREPARATION

Preparation time: 15min
Cooking time: 15min
Total: 30 min

Start by boiling the tofu cut into large pieces for 10 minutes. It is best to boil the tofu already cut so that it is easier to place in the glass of the shredder.

source

Drain the tofu and let it cool. When it no longer burns, place a piece between the palms of the hands and crush it carefully so that it releases as much water as possible. Do the same with the rest of the pieces and crush them together with the soy sauce and mustard.

Chop the walnuts in the mortar, or hit them inside a bag. Once they have been chopped, mix them with the tofu and keep them in the fridge until the dough is very cold and has reached consistency.

source

In a small saucepan or frying pan, heat the sugar. Before it begins to caramelize, add the seeds and stir for about 3 minutes, until we see that the seeds have been well impregnated with liquid sugar. Remove them from the frying pan or saucepan and let them cool on a baking paper, aluminum foil or plate.

source

Form small balls with the tofu dough. They must not be too big, so they can be eaten with just one bite. When we have formed the ball, batter it with caramelized sesame seeds. Follow the same procedure until the tofu dough is finished.

NOTES

You can serve these vegan balls with a toothpick as if it were a skewer. You can also experiment with different dressings and vary the taste of the dough.
