This lasagna is utterly amazing...it combines typical lasagna ingredients with a layer of homemade alfredo sauce that sets this lasagna far above all others!
Ingredients
- 1 large can Pureed Tomato Sauce
- 1 small can Tomato Paste
- 1 box Lasagna
- Oregano (to taste)
- Garlic (to taste)
- 1 lb Shredded Mozzarella Cheese (or Colby Jack or Provel)
- 2 lbs Ground Beef (or Turkey or Chicken)
- 1 pkg (8 oz) Cream Cheese
- 3/4 cup Parmesan Cheese
- 3/8 cup Butter
- 1/2 cup Milk
Directions
- Cook lasagna noodles in a large stock pot, then rinse to remove the excess starch and set aside.
- Cook meat in a large saucepan, then add to it the tomato puree, tomato paste, oregano and garlic. Set aside.
- Make alfredo sauce:
- In a medium saucepan, combine cream cheese, parmesan cheese, butter and milk over low/medium heat.
- Stir constantly until smooth, then remove from heat.
- Using a lasagna pan, a glass baking dish or a deep roasting dish, construct the lasagna in layers as follows:
- Alfredo sauce (top-most layer)
- Meat sauce
- Noodles
- Cheese
- Noodles
- Cheese
- Noodles
- Meat sauce (bottom-most layer)
- Cook uncovered at 350 degrees for 30-40 mins.
