Where in the world can she be?!? [Insert dramatic theme song voice]

Or should my catchy introductory title and theme song be... "Now this is a story all about how My life got flipped-turned upside down And I'd like to take a minute Just sit right there!...."

Well I'll start by introducing myself with what my ex-husband once wrote about me ("all good things, all good things"- Olaf voice), then as I continue to post I will take you through my meticulous life plan, and finally how life hit me loud and clear with a tasty slap of reality. No matter how much I had planned for, life was not having it. From college graduations, to fitness competitions, to even a divorce under my belt, oh and not to mention a former FBI candidate, to where in the world is janoodle now?!?

You would think I would have my life together by now, right? Well kids, hold on to your seats because this here is a wild one.

"Janet. Unstoppable, Beautiful, Inspirational, & Incredibly Intelligent. A West Covina High Alumnus, this 23 year old Latina continues to break boundaries and excel professionally, personally, & academically.

A first generation Mexican-American, and the oldest sibling of two, Janet is a very strong and passionate individual, to say the least. Brought up by parents who taught her success was first laid with the foundation of education, Janet once dealt with teachers whom advised her parents to hold her back from progressing to the next grade. Learning English by the age of 11, only 7 years later would these teachers be surprised to learn she would be attending UCLA for her undergraduate studies.

By age 20, with no friends to accompany her, Janet had departed on a 13 hour flight to the war torn country of Ghana, Africa. For a month long philanthropic mission, Janet volunteered her time to be an English Instructor at a Liberian Refugee Camp. However, that was not enough; during her stay in Africa Janet reached out to friends and family back home and ultimately fund-raised over $500 to construct a water producing well, one that would provide water and forever aid the lives of approximately 20-30 Liberian Refugees. In a camp where malnutrition, a lack of medical resources, and lack of a clean and steady supply of water all contribute to an overwhelming death toll, Janet’s well continues to save countless lives to this day.

It was this monumental and life changing experience that triggered her interest in criminal justice & social welfare.

Two years after, and while working for the Department of Homeland Security as a Management Program Assistant, Janet received her BA in English Literature with a World Literature concentration, and a Spanish minor at the prestigious University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2009. A few of her many awards include: Latina of the Year (2008-2009), LTA’s Principals Award-Scholarship (2008-2009), the Chancellor’s Service Award (Spring 2009), Gamma Sigma Alpha Honors Society (Spring 2009), and Order of Omega Honors Society (Winter 2009).

Immediately after receiving her diploma, Janet accepted the offer to pursue a Masters of Science Degree with the Criminal Justice Program at California State University, Long Beach. She is expected to graduate December 2011, and has thus focused her research on women and prostitution, and hopes to write her graduate thesis on the Juarez, Mexico femicides.

Her ultimate goal is to work for the Federal Bureau of Investigations as a special agent, particularly in the sex trafficking division. Determined to earn her Ph.D. in Criminal Justice by the age of 35, Janet still finds time to stay active and healthy.

This past June, Janet completed the San Diego International Triathlon as a member of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Although this disease has not directly affected her, she completed the race and raised over $3,400 towards the continuing research efforts of finding a cure.

Diametrical to months of intense triathlon training, Janet recently competed and was chosen as a finalist for the MGM’s Grand’s HOT 100 Competition in Las Vegas, NV. After a series of judging events and online voting rounds, Janet unfortunately did not make it to the top 20, but far from a crushing defeat, this experience gave Janet a new found drive, and appreciation for fitness models that has thus fueled her desire to transform her body and lifestyle to win one herself.

Far from your professional and typical model, Janet is a full time student with aspirations that stretch far beyond her physical appearance. But her competitive nature and desire to push her own limits make her a definite threat, and an ideal candidate for the edgy Team Fox! As one of the newest elite members of M2 Fitness Pros, Janet has completely immersed herself in this experience.

She will make her debut on the stage on December 4, 2010 at the Excalibur Championships in Culver City.
